Okay, So its made of Derlin and has a rubber diaphram. I purchased it for a carborator application. So I think its low pressure. However the grain going through the pump will pose some serious problems I imagine. Next question. Is there a cheaper alternative to homebrew pumps?

I'm building a mash tun out of a keg as so many others have before me. I have an electric fuel pump, Brand new(for those wondering) and was going to try and use it as a transfer pump. Anybody else tried this?

Awsome Beer Man! Brewed it a couple weeks ago and im about to blow the keg. I copied the recipe from screen to scale.. Then of course I tried it and its fantastic!! I didn't have a single note written down. Been scowering HBT now for a week!

I agree with The_Bird! I have an 11 year old carboy washer and she loves to hang out and make beer. Make Beer!! anybody here that? MAKE BEER! She's not drinking it! She's Making it, like Science, like making cheese, canning food, preserving food, gardening... Make sense?

I figured I would buy grains in quantities of 10 lbs. After mocking up an order of 70lbs, tax and shipping. Midwest supplies comes in at 1.90 a lbs across the board. I'll run through the others and post my order quantities and prices if anyone else is interested.

does anyone know a place to get cheap or reasonably prices specialty grains, Black Malt, Special B, Brown Malt, Caramels etc? I buy my base malts in bulk from LHS and their prices are more than reasonable. The specialty malts on the other hand run 3 to 4 dollars a pound.

Okay, I got back here a little late and forged ahead without any real advice. The pot with the macerated peaches weighed 7.5 lbs. I placed the pot on the stove and brought the temp up to 170 degrees very slowly .While the temperature was coming up I proceeded to mash the life out of the peaches...

I've got this simple Hefe I brew in the summer... My friend has tons of Peach Trees and we want to try and spike it with peaches. I was thinking of throwing a couple pounds of pealed peaches in the secondary. Any thoughts or recommendations? is it to late?
