    Hop replacement HELP!

I'm in the process of brewing a Lawnmower Saison kit from Midwest. I just noticed 1 oz of US Goldings Hops is missing (Kit should have 2 oz Goldings 1 oz for bittering and one for aroma) I have 1 oz of cascade here on hand. How would that change the flavor or aroma depending on when its added...

    Letting Cold beer go warm

I had a bbq this weekend and a few people brought six packs and were put right on ice. The good thing is I have about a case that wasn't consumed. I have no room in my beer fridge right now. Is it ok to store the beer in my basement and let it go warm until it's ready to drink again. Thanks

No starter action after 24 hrs

Thanks, I was curious because this is my first starter where no krausen (action) formed. As usual it's a simple explanation. As usual no need for me to panic. Thanks again

No starter action after 24 hrs

I planned on brewing today and after 24 hrs I have no action in my starter. I'm using white labs britsh ale 005. The vile was shipped 4 weeks ago during the heat wave. The cold pack was warm when the shipment was recieved. I think the yeast is dead. Midwest also sent a 6 gram packet of Muntons...

Issues with Midwest Supplies Extract kits?

I've made the MW Bel Wit kit twice. My first ever batch I used the dry yeast because I didn't know any better, but I gotta say for my first batch I was quite impressed. Five batches later I tried that kit again and used the white Labs with a starter and I have to say what a difference. Smoother...

    Big Head

Thanks everyone. At least the beer taste great. I popped a second one last night and the head wasn't as big as the first... Still big though. I'll just pour a little slower for now.

    Big Head

The starting gravity was 1.045 and the final was 1.012 for 3 days before bottling. I had it in the primary for 16 days and a secondary carboy for 14 days and in the bottle for 3 weeks. I also added 5 oz of priming sugar.

    Big Head

I just popped open the first bottle of my 4th brew a California Steam. When I poured it It was all head from the bottom to the top of the glass. It was all foam. I poured it my usual way tilting the glass and all. The head just shot up really fast. What could be the cause of this? Just curious...

    Starter question

This will be my sixth batch. My second with a starter(cream ale). Is it necessary to pour off the beer before adding the starter? My first batch with the starter I did not (Hefe). It's still in the primary and seems ok.

    24 hrs for a starter?

I actually have two questions. I'm making a Hefeweizen from from a Midwest extract kit with White Labs Hefeweizen ale yeast WPL230. Would it be ok if I made a starter now (7:30 pm) and pitched at say 4pm tomorrow? Also I just took the yeast out of the fridge. Would it be ok to make a starter...

    Clearing

My Belgian Wit cleared a lot over time. I like it a little cloudy in the glass.
