A few questions before I buy my equipment.

It does save some time, but my main upside to kegging is reduced wait time. I'm like a kid at x-mas by the time my brew finishes. With Kegging I'm enjoying it after only 2 days in the keg vs. 8+ bottle carbonating.

    complete amateur alert

I would suggest finding a concentrate kit. This gets you used to the idea of brewing and such, and then you can move into mash's etc. just my .02c

just racked my cider...is this normal?

Just order the carbonating drops. They dont work off of the yeast from what I have been told. Then you should get the best of both worlds.

    Idea's and thoughts

I'm thinking of making a Bar with 4 Taps. Now my first idea would be to get a old chest freezer and mount it to rolling casters. Then make a Bar frame that would fit over it. this way I could fit 4 soda kegs and co2 inside and put a temp regulator on them. I could then run my lines through...

A few questions before I buy my equipment.

Can you not order Soda Kegs in your state either? I mean a Soda keg is all you need for a 5 Gallon Brew. I would start with an extract kit to see if you like the "idea" of brewing. I started with a Mr. Beer Kit and I'm up to full grains, wines, and cheese making etc. Its easy to catch the...

    Secondary question

the best thing I can suggest... that has helped me in my short brewing career is a diary. I made some beer that tasted wonderful, and I had exactly how long i boiled and cooled everything, exact amounts used on all ingredients etc. I mean everything, including how many hours in ferment (not...

Hello all! I got a Mr. Beer for a gift.. and yet I know this is a very simplifyed form, it has spiked my interest in brewing. I plan on getting http://www.northernbrewer.com/starterkits.html to start myself off. My main problem is I live in Florida, and I keep seeing that temp control is...
