    Found them to be great to work with. I Paypal'd my order. They sent me a bill that included shipping and after paying, a confirmation saying the date when it would be shipped. Visa orders must operate different.

    You're all a bunch of hop hoarders!. I emailed hopsdirect to have them drop a pound of Cascades from my order. They sent me an email saying they are running behind on their internet orders as they have had a HUGE increase of internet purchases the last two weeks. Go figure! :)

    Book Suggestions

    I'm trying to get a handle on the brewing process as it pertains to belgian dubbels. I get the lower mash temps, big starters, longer primary, long conditioning part of the process. I'm a little fuzzy on the bottle conditioning with additional yeast and sugar.

    Wyeast 1098

    Porter...it isn't too sweet, actually has a very good flavor...more concerned about priming in the keg and what the pressure situation might be.

    Hmmm, no malt extract...AG (2-row 70%, crystal 80 12%, Chocolate 8%, Black 4%, peat smoked 1%, flaked barley 4%), mash 154F, sparge 170F. Pitched 1 smack pack in each 5 gallon fermenter. (Didn't own a stir plate at the time)

    Anybody have any issues with Wyeast 1098 British Ale finishing out attenuation? Have 10 gallons of a porter split into two 5 gallon fermenters side by side...pitched at 70 degrees, cooled to 66-68 degrees for 30 days ferment. OG was 1.050 and 30 days later hydro shows 1.019. Should have a...

    simple, probably dumb, welding question

    Here is a link to a 1/2" stainless coupling. If the link doesn't work, the item number is 4464K214 (it is 304 stainless) McMaster-Carr Not sure what 'coupler' would work for this application. good luck

    I have a buddy who is a pipe fitter by trade... he reminds me daily that I don't use the proper 'trade' terminology. So take this with a grain of salt. I'm 'assuming' you mean coupling...not coupler. Assuming your welder is a welder by trade or knowledgeable in proper welding practices...

    Have an APA that has been in the fermenter for 22 days. It has stalled at 70% attenuation...should be around 73%-77%. Normally I wouldn't sweat it except for the abnormally high OG it's still at. Background: first batch using new barley crusher...overshot OG by a bunch. Should have been in...
