1st lager, wanna try Narziss spinoff but...

My first attempt at lagering will be a Baltic Porter kit. The directions call for the regular lagering method, pitch yeast relatively warm, cool over the first couple days of fermentation to primary fermentation temp, warm back up for DR and then lager for four weeks. HOWEVER, I would like to...

I have been getting ready to build a keezer for some time now, purchasing faucets, shanks, regulator etc when I had the cash. I recently noticed that Sears has an appliance layaway plan now (in the past appliances werent applicable). Thought this might be a good way to purchase a 5.0cf chest...

advice on a PepsiCo branded co2 tank

I too was recently given a steel #20 tank (with Canada Dry stickers on it :) ). It's pretty rusted up around the handle/collar and the base of the on/off valve. Anyone know if a company like Air Gas will take it?? Thoughts?

    Brewing in the freakin' heat?

I am in South Carolina, so I feel your pain! I try to start earlier but that doesn't always happen. No more beer while brewing...its just water until I pitch the yeast...then lookout! I found my biggest relief has been a patio furniture umbrella that a friend salvaged from the side of the...

    barley wine.

I brewed the American Barleywine extract kit from AHS in January and it tastes great! It fermented vigorously in my 6.5 gallon carboy, so I would definitely use a blow-off tube. I kept it in primary for a month and then secondary for like two months?? before bottling. Did not add any...
