    Newbie Colorado Brewer

Understandable. It sold out in 45 minutes this year. I've been involved with it for years and will be there the whole time. Good luck brewing. My next brew will be a black lager. My first lager. Cheers.

    krausen question

Thanks for the input BigB. I'll leave it alone til I'm ready to dry hop. This was my first batch that I made a starter, using Wyeast 1272. It took off very quick and was very active for the first few days. My experience has been when the bubbles slow down, the krausen falls in. You believe...

    krausen question

I've brewed quite a few batches of beer over the past 3 years. My latest batch of black ipa, primary fermentation has slowed down after about 5 days, but the krausen is still floating on top. In my brewing experience, it usually falls back in by the time primary fermentation slows down. I...

Auber pid 2352 set up & operation help

Hey Augie, Not sure if I'll be much help to you. It seemed to me that auto tune finished fairly quick, but my auber was initially set to celsius instead of farenheit, so I needed to reset that first. I never checked the ssr for current leak, but know it heats my element with no problem. I have...

Auber pid 2352 set up & operation help

I finally tried out my new rims system and it worked flawlessly, so much easier than my old set up. I just need to perfect my wort chiller to fit my keggle better or visa versa. First batch was a porter, second will be a black ipa. Once again, I thank everyone for their input and help with the...

Auber pid 2352 set up & operation help

Okay, Yes, it was reading celsius. Seems to be working now. I'll run it a few more times before I try to mash with it. Thanks to everyone for the help. Maybe I will try my first batch this weekend. It will be my first brew on my new single tier brew rig. Salute.

Auber pid 2352 set up & operation help

I'm reading the manual, and I found where I should be able to adjust it, but I'm missing something. It states that the "cool" parameter is where to reset it. The manual refers to different settings in this mode; a, b, c, d. When I go to this mode I'm only finding; 1,2,3 and so on. The manual...

Auber pid 2352 set up & operation help

I just turned it on again. This time it started to boil, never shut off on its own. Is it normal for the pv reading to keep climbing? It continually climbed up the ladder. It read about 89 when the water started to boil.

Auber pid 2352 set up & operation help

During a test run, I set it to 152. It was around 160 when I decided to turn it off and posted this question. So I don't know if it will shut off on its own.

Auber pid 2352 set up & operation help

Any Auber experts out there? Let me start off by saying that I am not a high tech person, so I'm having a little trouble understanding how to set this thing up. I've built a new RIMS unit to replace my old one. I'm using a Auber 2352 for temp control. I have it all wired up and ran it through...

    keggle question

I also butted my fitting to the outside, but I'm not getting a very strong solder joint. I'm able to break it apart fairly easy. I haven't given up yet though. I may have to consider weldless fittings. Are you using a false bottom in your keggle? Any problems with it?
  17. R

    keggle question

That looks great. I found a bottle of Harris Stay Clean flux today and I'll try it tonight. Tried a different flux yesterday with no joy. Did you butt solder your fittings to the outside or did you drill the hole large enough to slide the fitting into the keg? I think I'll have more surface to...

    keggle question

I think I'll try a silver bearing lead free solder and a silver solder/brazing rod on the tops I cut off before i touch my kegs and see how that works. I spoke with the local welder, who is recommended by 2 homebrew shops, but his prices are more than my budget allows. Thanks.

    keggle question

What type of solder did you use, lead free? How has it held up?

    keggle question

Cool. Thanks everyone. All good info. Hey BrewNinja, any chance you could post a closeup pic of your keggle? Now that I have my fitting heights out of the way, I'm looking for a little input regarding false bottoms for my mashtun. Anyone?
