Beers changing drastically after force carbonation

once kegged did you purge out the o2? also how long are you waiting after you carb it? bottling takes weeks to carb so the flavor will change. try carbing in the keg and waiting a couple weeks. i have noticed it only gets better as the keg gets lower (time). if you are looking for a more fresh...

$12 O2 adapter for disposable tanks

I will start by saying do this at your own risk! you will be modifying a propane torch head. I started with this $12 if you don't know it has right hand threads and an o2 tank has left hand threads. I took it apart leaving only the main body that screws on the the o2 tank. then i took...

O2 aeration + fermentation over flow?

Its a 6 gal ale pale. i am not sure what brew i am going to make next but i like the idea of the blow off tube attached to the airlock. i will use that idea to be safe and then just reassemble the air lock if i don"t need the blow off tube. Thanks

I just got an O2 setup for aerating my wort (disposable tanks) and i plan on using for my next brew (it will be a dme+hop kind of kit) . fix for a leaky ale pail? and re pitching?

thanks for the quick replay. yes the leak is somewhere between the lid and the bucket. i was thinking a gasket of some sort. being new to this it would be nice to be able to see some kind of action from the air lock instead if it leaking out so i dont have to wait 3-4 weeks to find out i screwed...

fix for a leaky ale pail? and re pitching?

After a couple days of my first batch of beer my airlock showed no signs of action reading "how to brew" it mentioned that if nothing happened in 48 hrs you should re pitch. (my first pitch was dry yeast sprinkled on top and mixed in) i opened the pail trying to be as sanitary as possible. there...

    Brew Kettle

didn't intend to start and argument or suggest he just walk away with the keg. but he could ask a store to buy the empty keg.

    Brew Kettle

that wouldn't be stealing a keg. you are putting a deposit on the keg for the value of it. i bet if you went to a liquor store and asked to buy and empty keg for the deposit price they would sell you one.
