    Height Needed for BIAB Hoist?

Worked like a charm! Glad I switched to BIAB. Better efficiency, easier to clean, and best of all no grain to strain out post mash.

    Height Needed for BIAB Hoist?

All good and fine if you know the dimensions of the bag and hoist. I do not- haven't bought them yet... hence the question on the discussion forum.

    Height Needed for BIAB Hoist?

Hey guys, i've finally had it with my Spike Solo 20G mash basket. Had a disaster of a brew session and WAY undershot gravity. Had to crush too coarse to keep grain out of the boil. So, it's time to go with a BIAB. The issue is that I can't permanently install a hoist in the ceiling. I need a...

    Interesting pump flow discovery/idea

Would you happen to have a link? That shelf add-on is perfect, and I can't seem to find it on that website. Thanks.

    New brewing setup advice needed

I put together a system with a Spike Solo 20G kettle, Solo basket, Blichmann Brewcommander controller, More Beer 5000 watt SlingBlade element, and Riptide pump. Everything fits together perfectly, and it will do 10 or 5G batches. Still dialing in my crush for best results.

Need advice brewing with well water and on a septic system

I can comment on spent grain handling. We used to put them in the trash bin which would start stinking depending on the time between brewing and trash service. New Spike 20G Solo Build

Scratch that- I would connect a hose at the chiller output to the fermenter. Sorry- too much multitasking today :p

    New Spike 20G Solo Build

Exactly. I just close the right side off (there's a ball valve there), remove the hose by the QD and connect it to the fermenter, and transfer.

    New Spike 20G Solo Build

It allows to split the pump output between the whirlpool and the sparge inputs for increased efficiency. I have read from a few brewers that it helps. Hopefully, I can verify that soon. I've been a little to busy to do my first brew on this.

    New Spike 20G Solo Build

This has been fun. I've put together a Spike Solo 20G system with the Blichmann Brewcommander controller, More Beer 5000 watt SlingBlade, and Riptide pump, all on the Solo table. Having the chiller and pump attached to the table is a great convenience! I'm downsizing from a 3 vessel propane rig...
