Modifying a stock pot for kettle cooling (with illustrations)

I'm not entirely following your plan here, but I can offer one suggestion. Insert the stoppers from the inside. That way pressure actually seats them more tightly rather than pushing them out. Good luck.

Using 1" Camlock for quick release element?

Thank you Bobby M. That was what I was worried about. So you would have to have a 1.5" Camlock pair and a 1.5" to 1" bushing to make this work.

Using 1" Camlock for quick release element?

Many people are using 1" NPT fittings for their elements. I understand that the elements are NPS but they will seal. I'm wondering if the id of the camlock is large enough for an ULWD element to fit. I hope it is because this would be a fabulous solution.

Using 1" Camlock for quick release element?

Has anyone tried this yet with the 1" Camlocks? I love the idea and was wondering if there are any results out there yet.

Any advice on making spicy (as in spicy hot) meads?

My girlfriend has done a number of capsumels. She has used Habenero, Thai Hot, and Bhut Jolokia. The habenero has become a signature item at local beer festivals and homebrew events when our club serves and has a fairly rabid following. When she gets home, I'll see if I can get her to come...

hows this for a funny story..

Five years old? That's about the age when I walked into the basement after one of my father's hunting trips and asked him what he was doing. He replied, "Better hope it's clear on Christmas Eve. I just shot Rudolph." While he finished cleaning the deer he had hanging. My mom didn't find the...

    RIP Pierre Celis

RIP Pierre Celis He fought the good fight for good beer for a very long time, bringing back a style that is now widely loved and was repeatedly beaten down by the big breweries which now try to copy the beer he saved. Without Pierre Celis there would not only be no Hoegaarden but no Blue...

    EBay find on Silicone Tubing

Just found this on EBay. It appears to be a discontinued silicone tubing found here. 25 feet for $30 plus shipping looks pretty good unless I'm missing something. Just thought I would pass it on.

    Trip to orlando/need suggestions!!!!

Anytime anyone is heading to Orlando I always recommend stopping at Redlight Redlight and visiting Brent and the guys there. One of the best beer bars anywhere in the world. If you have extra time, come on over to Deland (about 30-45 minutes east) and visit Abbey.

Have to hit Redlight Redlight. Brent and the guys there have a great selection and deserve their place as one of the top 5 beer bars in the world. If you have time, head a bit east to Deland to visit Abbey.

In Daytona, McKay's is pretty decent on Beach St. Make sure you make the trip over to Deland (30 minutes west) to visit Abbey.

Perlick Faucet Manufacturing Differences Okay? *Pic*

The nut below the tap handle adjusts, just as it does on all faucets. that can be screwed higher or lower to adjust for handles that need to face one particular direction. With the black handles it doesn't matter which way they face, so you can adjust them to be as high or low as you'd like.

    Keg Hopping?!

I use a stainless steel tea ball weighted down to close to neutral bouyancy. As long as the ball doesn't pop open (only happened once so far) there's no problem with the lines clogging.

Oskar Blues "Gordon" forced to change its name

For a look at what could have been done in the brewing industry, look at the story behind Avery/Russian River Collaboration, Not Litigation. Both brewers became aware that the other was brewing a beer by the name of "Salvation." Instead of seeking a lawsuit, they sat down at a bar and over...

Suggest a beer for this dish...

Don't know where you are in PA, but if you can find any Insanity from Weyerbacher (they are out of Easton), that would be a great pairing. It is an oak aged barley wine that has an amazing carmel up front and a nice, buttery oak finish.

    Cheers from Central FL

Congratulations and welcome. I'm a homebrewer from right down the road in Deland. If you are interested in meeting a few more of the locals check out Volusia County Homebrewer's Guild. We meet at Abbey in Deland the last Sunday of each month.
