    Any innovations in fermentation equipment?

My initial post was a little too vague. My goal is to have a more precise temperature control during the entire process, regardless of the beer style. That probably means separate temperature control per vessel. When I said "automation", that's what I meant. I want a way to dial in a target...

    Any innovations in fermentation equipment?

Us home brewers are regularly seeing new automated kettle systems, and I certainly enjoy mine. Fermentation equipment doesn't seem to be enjoying as much attention from manufacturers. I've heard plenty of brewers say they should have invested more in the fermentation side, and these comments...

First Time Keezer Build - What do you wish you knew/What lessons did you learn?

I'd like to know the components you used to add these ports to the collar.

First Time Keezer Build - What do you wish you knew/What lessons did you learn?

That's exactly how I built it originally. I guess great minds think alike. The surface of the magnets is too slippery to hold the magnets given their strength. I going to try a different glue to see if I can solve the issue.

First Time Keezer Build - What do you wish you knew/What lessons did you learn?

NOT AGAIN: I decided to put casters under mine so I could wheel it from the unfinished area of my basement, where it normally lives, to my bar area. The bar area isn't big enough to handle it regularly, but during a party it would be convenient for the kegs to be in the bar area. Fact is, I've...

    GrainFather Support

UPDATE: Grainfather replaced the Bluetooth controller and boiler free of charge. My old unit was 1 month short of being 4 years old. That's great service.

    GrainFather Support

Agreed. It seems like all units will eventually fail. I've brewed a dozen times in the last 5 months so maybe I pushed it over the edge.

    GrainFather Support

A couple of days ago I too suffered the melted heating element plug issue many others have had. I was able to finish the brew day, but it took a flat blade screwdriver to pry the heating element plug from the socket on the bottom of the controller. I started the service call process with...

    Grainfather opinions

I've owned the US 5gal 110V Grainfather system for a few years and done a few dozen batches without incident. I don't have any experience with other AIO systems so I can't comment on which is best. I just know mine works fine and I am completely satisfied with the purchase ($800 on sale). I also...

QuickConnects or Camlocks for hot side?

I'm trying to improve the operation of my brewing process, and this thread piqued my interest. I am trying to learn the connection options; cam lock, quick disconnect, etc. Do any of you know of YouTube videos, articles with pictures etc., that might help visually describe these choices. I also...

    Keezer as a fermentation chiller

The keezer is located in my basement which runs between 72-73F summer and 68-69F winter. I generally have the keezer internal temp set to 40F. The keezer is 9 cu.ft.

    Keezer as a fermentation chiller

I have a keezer and wonder if anyone is also using theirs as a source of cooling for the water they're circulating through their fermenter. if so, are you using an open topped container for the liquid is some sort of closed system to keep the humidity out of the keezer.
