    Grain bag

    Curious when keeping wort at recommended temp for steeping grain, the liquid is at ~152-156 per recipe, but sticking the thermometer in the grain bag its ~10 degrees cooler than surrounding liquid. So, is all this factored in or should I be more concerned about raising the internal temperature...

    Stout gone bad?

    Trying my first Bourbon barrel. Been brewing for a while, never had an issue until now. Good fermentation of stout, racked to secondary. Added toasted chips that had been in sealed bag with bourbon + scraped inside of bean.

    Patience is word I see in many threads. First batch in 15 years. Only handful prior to last. SG 1054, ending 1010. Right on numbers in one weeks' time. Supposed to be Kolsch kit.
