    My first Oktoberfest

I do not recall the strain of yeast that was supplied with the kit. The instructions do give an 'ale' fermentation alternative, so yeah, perhaps it's another Amber Ale lol

    My first Oktoberfest

Thanks!! It was an experience. The kit provided a yeast that worked for either lagers or ales, as I don't have the additional room for a lagering fridge I opted to go the ale route and kept the room as cool as possible. As for oxidation, I know it is virtually impossible to avoid 100% I did...

    NEIPA

LOL I suppose I am not getting out alive here unless I tell all. https://www.austinhomebrew.com/assets/images/1026_neipa_recipe.pdf Here is the ingredients and brew process. I made no variation to the brew process, I wanted to see how things would turn out. As of this point, I would brew...

    Floating hops in secondary fermenter

As per your question about a Tilt providing accurate FG, I use my Tilts as my primary reading. Once in awhile I will take a reading with a traditional hydrometer and the readings are as near a match as either option can offer. That is just my 2 cents.

    My first Oktoberfest

So I brewed my first Oktoberfest from an extract kit. I brewed it in early May, kegged it on May 29th, kept it at about 55-60° until about a week ago. I put it in the keezer for 24 hours to drop the temperature to about 33°. Then I added gelatin, purged the head space with co2, and put it at...

    NEIPA

I apologize for the long dely in responding, my job tends to get in the way of my brewing. As for a recipe, well, it is an extract kit from Brewers Best. I did not alter the directions at all as I plan to do another one with some slight variations. I like trying new extract kits and following...

Mounting my drip tray to keezer

I just a magnetic tray I bought from Harbor Freight. My keezer is white and the tray is black but I am not fussy, actually I am borderline trailerhood so some mismatching is to be expected LOL

    Sous Vide Brewing Experience?

Trial by error. I am sure others, like myself, have thought about it.

    Sous Vide Brewing Experience?

One of the beers I make is an extract kit but with some steeping involved. I use one of my sous vides just for this purpose. It works perfect and I am very pleased with it. I am also going to be using it for biab. I have a basket that I can put my bag in to avoid the bag getting stuck in the...
