    Bottling conditions/temperature

Hi guys, I recently made an all grain golden ale. It tasted fantastic prior to bottling - after a couple of weeks it carbonated perfectly but the taste had deteriorated a little. I had left them in the garage and wasnt aware that I should of controlled the temperature better ( I do have chest...

I am just going off my water quality reports, and wandered if it was fine to just carry on making pale ale.

Hi guys, my tap water ph is 8. Should I reduce this for the mash or is it ok, also what are the risks to the brew with a bad ph..

    Low efficiency

Tap water I have been using and funnily enough I was previously having different problems so changed to bottled as a one off - and it was significantly more efficient ( in hind site )

    Low efficiency

Hi guys. I am quite new to all grain brewing, my 6th attempt tastes and smells great, but I used 6.5kg grain for 5 gallon brew and only had 4.2% alc. (1040 og - 1008 fg ) I guess its to do with my mashing - im using a converted cooler box at 65°c. Any advice would be appreciated please.

    Two yeasts

It was 11g safe ale yeast and mid range gravity - would there be any benefit?

    Two yeasts

Hi, I have noticed some 5 gallon recipes ask for 2 packaged of yeast, while vast majority require one. I have used one previously with no problems, is there any benefit of using two for an average strength ale

    Gower Gold

I took a sample now (day 10) and it tastes and smells great, and grav was spot on (1.006 was 1.046) so it's looking like I've got a cracking dark ale, not sure if it was the controlled temp, hydrating yeast or aeration but il do it the same next time 😁

    Gower Gold

my carbonation/ bottling has been a mixed bag so far, the last batch was a golden ale and the carbonation was really good. I've used tap water on them so far, however I tried bottled water on the current fermenting batch. I have no experience in water chemistry, maybe I will one day 😀
