    ispindel issues

I have come across and followed the instructions from this youtube video and completed the graph and chart. But now I have found out he didn't do any more videos other than linking to Brewfather which I am not a fan of. You can see, the original tilt is at 22.05. I don't know how to change...

    ispindel issues

Hi guys, looking for some help with my ispindel. It has the latest software and has been set up in Ubidots. I have an issue with the readings though. In 22.7 degrees Celsius water, I have placed some sugar that my hydrometer reads a gravity of 1.012. However, my iSpindel is reading-1.092 the...

    Nice light drinkable lager recipe

Thank you for all the advice, it's really helpful. One question, when adding the 12 litres to the urn (to account for the water loss you mentioned), will this not overspill when the grains are added?

    Nice light drinkable lager recipe

Hi all. I have done a few beer kits and had ok results, but I struggle with getting mouthfeel right and know that if I use the BIAB method, I should be able to sort that out. I have a 15-litre urn that I can use to do BIAB, but I am struggling to find any specific recipes for a standard light...

    Volume conversion issues

Hello. I have designed an excel spreadsheet that converts ingredient volumes two suit 2 gallons. So for example, 2.5kg or pilsner converts to 1kg. However, a recipe I am looking at now has more ingredients (Aromatic Malt and pal wheat) that measure 0.1135kg. When converter, this comes back a 0...

brewing 10 litre batch with 15 litre kettle

Hi all. I am looking to start doing the BIAB method, but need some help with capacity. Without buying any more equipment, it is possible to brew a 10-litre (2 gallon) batch in my 15-litre kettle? I know how to convert the ingredients down, but just need to know if the 15-litre capacity is...

    fermenting in a Demijohn

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone here used demijohns for fermenting? I wanted to separate out a gallon at a time, but cannot find anywhere that offers a carbon filter lid to seal it with so odour is eliminated. I have thought of using a brewing bucket (with the smaller lid), but again, I...

    New to BIAB

Thanks for the information. I have looked on brewers mate and tried filling in a simple recipe. 15 litres, 3kg Munich malt, 20g Chinook (60m), 20g Challenger (15m), and 20g Citra (0m) But the calculation is coming out at an ABV of 3.51%. How would I make this stronger? I am looking for a...

    New to BIAB

Hi all. So I have done 2 extract kits bought in Wilko's and the Range, and now I want to try BIAB. But I have a few questions I was hoping someone might be able to help me with. 1. Looking at buying a bag, I have seen fine and coarse options. What is the difference? 2. My urn is 15 litres max...

    Beer kit ingredients confusion

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been looking into BIAB, but don't you need a massive pot for that with a tap as well as a wort chiller?. All I have is what I needed for a kit. I have 3 buckets. (one with a tap) and all the paddle, syphon tubing, hydrometer etc... But no actual cooking...

    Beer kit ingredients confusion

I really want to start all-grain brewing. But at the moment, I cannot afford all the extra kit to do that, so was just hoping to find way of expanding my knowledge and practicing whilst gathering all the extra things I need to start properly.

    Beer kit ingredients confusion

I want to get to the point where I am boiling, but wanted to try all this in small steps (for experience and cost). So was looking at just buying a kit, but all the parts individually, so I could play around with different extracts, yeasts and hops to learn how much they influence the brew. Is...

    Beer kit ingredients confusion

Hello. I have completed 4 batches of beer now using different beer kits. After watching a lot of youtube videos, I am now officially confused as to how to ease away from kits without diving straight in. The kits contain liquid malt extract, yeast, and hops. But when I look online, even malt...

    Has my wine completed fermentation?

Hello. I am new to winemaking and have been following a kit to get me started (Wilko Sauviougn Blanc). Everything has been going fine, but I have been following the instructions and it is saying that after 7 days of fermentation, I should add the stabiliser, however, the bubbler is still...
