    Help with GFCI Breaker Options

Hi, doug293cz helped me to figure out an in-line GFCI solution in the thread Another 240 Volt GFCI Question which avoids building a panel or messing with the breaker box. I simply unplug the adapter when it's time to dry the laundry. Cheers,

    Efficiently cleaning a unitank

Hi, I decided to use an alternate pump with that CIP and got this (1/4 HP version) on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000X05G1A/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I mix pbw with hot tap water to fill a 5 gallon bucket, submerge the pump and cycle the mix with 1.5...

I've lived in the Ukraine and have spent time in a Kiev jail. Never brewed there though... Cheers,

Voss Kveik yeast is a monster

Wow! 😲 That is serious indeed. I had gotten my hands on a unitank and from the youtubes I seen, apparently fermenting under pressure will suppress the height of the krausen (?) I reckon this is where the Fermzillas and similar will be an advantage in this regard. Cheers,

Voss Kveik yeast is a monster

Oh, I see. I wasn't aware that some of those types of notes were the result of reactions involving oxygen. So it's still worth a bit of aging instead of quaffing it all down straight away. In any case it's good to know that the darks will taste good after just a few weeks. I'll give it a go...

Voss Kveik yeast is a monster

OK, fair enough. I understood about the insane fermentation temperatures and so forth but I've never seen a post where it was stated that a stout or porter fermented in this way was as good as those aged in the traditional time consuming way. People only seem to talk about it's use in IPA's and...

Voss Kveik yeast is a monster

Hi guys, Not being facetious or rude when I ask the question: "Then what?" Just trying to understand the nature of the beast. When used for stouts/porters and so forth is it still necessary to condition these big beers for onward of 8 months in order for them to mature? If that's...

    Another 240 Volt GFCI Question

Hi Cato, thanks for the confirmation. Yes, I agree. If I were not able to find the unit with the molded plugs I probably would have gone with that version. Adding the ebay adapter will just make everything plug-n-play. Cheers,

    Another 240 Volt GFCI Question

Hi doug, wow, thanks for the clarification. That makes sense that the two should be bonded at the panel. I must have missed the part about neutral carrying current in the primer. During my searching I thought I recalled seeing youtube examples of where the bonding occurred at the socket, or...

    Another 240 Volt GFCI Question

Hi, geez, thanks for catching that. See what I mean? It was all supposed to be so easy. One minor oversight and you're in the front row seat of the electric chair. I feel a LOT better now! Thanks again guys, greatly appreciated! Cheers,

    Another 240 Volt GFCI Question

Hi, many thanks for responding. Yes, in fact the product manual warns that it should not be operated unless both the 120v as well as the 240v supply lines are plugged into a GFCI circuit. The statement about the dryer is what attracted me to the unit. They even offer a power cord that has the...

    Another 240 Volt GFCI Question

Hi folks, Just getting back into brewing after decades long absence. I've searched all over the forum as well as have read the electric tutorial sticky but many of the thread links are gone so I don't yet have a complete picture. Installation of a 240 v 30 amp breaker is not an...
