It doesn't matter how long ago Two Hearted was released. It's still among the best beers out there. Is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale somehow less of a beer just because it was first released almost 40 years ago? Nope. It's still the standard.

I liked the Two Hearted Ale recipe so much that I ran ten gallons of it this time.

I have this one fermenting in the carboy now and it smells *good*. My LHBS didn't have Notty so I went with US-05. We'll see how it goes.

Do this - it's a lot easier. A couple inches of hose connected to the spigot and the bottling wand. If possible, position it over an open dishwasher. Easy peasy.

Sam Adams does a Cherry Wheat. What a terrible, Ny-Quil tasting beer. Oskar Blues Old Chub is a very close second.

Bell's Two Hearted Ale using the recipe from their website. I use an unused basement bathroom as my fermentation chamber. It's not unsanitary I promise. :)

I don't bother taking gravity readings since I've only been doing extract kits. Northern Brewer includes the exact amount of extract and steeping grains I need. When I start doing all-grain I'll do a measurement for the first few times I run with that system.

I was just thinking this myself. It just isn't a proper autumn evening without having some Celebration Ale in the fridge ready to be cracked open.

I always take the labels off. It'd drive me absolutely crazy if the labels were still on the bottles. Just bottled 54 bottles of Dry Irish Stout tonight, matter of fact.

That's how I did it last time and it was perfect. Easiest bottling day I've had yet.

It turned out that my LHBS only had Weyermann Carawheat in stock, and didn't have any S-04, but did have S-05. I used both, along with the other recommended ingredients in the recipe, but it's definitely not a Red Ale. ;) I s'pose I'll have to call it an American Amber, or something. I hope...
