is a tds meter much use?

From my salt water aquarium days - if you are having trouble with your RO membrane spitting out too high of TDS (most amazon systems come with crap membranes), order a DOW FilmTec membrane and be amazed at the TDS drop!

Pressure transfer from unitank help - first time

Well long story short, the beer bright clogged up with hops before a single drop of beer made it to the keg so filtering was out the window. I blew off as much as I could over 2 more days and still ended up with crazy hops in the keg that are now clogging the poppet after cleaning them out 6...

Pressure transfer from unitank help - first time

Hello ! I need some advice on my first transfer attempt on a basic IPA 10G batch from 14g ss brewtech unitank into the kegs via pressure transfer. I'm trying to leave as much trub and hops behind as possible. I did dry hop 10 oz of pellets right into the tank with no bag so hops are...

    Tilt Hydrometer

I was hoping for this as well. I had to reboot the old phone yesterday as it wasn't updating the sheet every 10 mins like normal. I got a batch upload but not the historical data, the timestamps were all clustered together...

    Tilt Hydrometer

Yea the air temp is controlled in my RV garage bathroom where the fermenters sit in a shower pan. It's locked in at 69 looks like. Always interesting to see the yeast +5/6 degrees to the wort temp when they start really going. Palmer talks about raising temp towards the end, I figure I don't...

    Tilt Hydrometer

I have 3 tilts and my finals are always off ~.005 - .009 too low as stuff sticks to them during fermentation. It always matches my FG with a hydrometer once I clean it off and drop into secondary. I still love watching the google docs during active for temps and knowing its still dropping, I...

Just Ordered - Brew Buddy II 50a from Auber

Hello I went with two of the 1.5 inch threaded ( PT100-L401/2NPT) for T installs and two of the 2 inch weldless (PT100-L50M14.) for kettle install. I ended up using them differently as initially planned, as the ss brew tech kettle had a hole I was able to use with a 1.5 inch threaded version...

Just Ordered - Brew Buddy II 50a from Auber

Thanks for the clarification, makes sense now. With 4 probes, I have some options as what to use to control the HLT element. I'm going to experiment with firing the HLT element based on direct MT temp (ss brew tech insulated MT with probe where the thermowell was), outgoing herms coil temp...

I haven't heard of recirculating the HLT water, does that make the Herms more effective ?

Just Ordered - Brew Buddy II 50a from Auber

So I sent an email to Auber earlier this week about building a 50a version of the Brew Buddy so I could do back to back batches utilizing 2x ezboil controllers at the same time. They were really responsive and let me know they had one coming real soon. Sure enough, I was able to place the order...

    Auber Instruments CUBE - Review

Hey looks great! Anyway I can get some details of your element install, I really like the male plug and tri clamp combo to keep it short and manageable. Also looks way better than the ugly utility box I keep seeing everywhere. What pieces do you have there? I'm guessing the 1.5 inch weldless...
