The clear plastic hose is quite a bit more stiff - especially the cold water in side...easier to coil up when storing, and in my experience the plastic hose doesn't always seal the best on the SS tubing.     Yes, there was much discussion about them doing filtered runs vs not. People didn't like the filtered brew. There were some shenanigans about the 2014 crop of Citra hops as well. It's very interesting to read about. Still, TG is one of my favorite breweries. I will be brewing a Sosus clone next.
