    I was thinking the same but too polite to mention!! I’m thinking of nutrients before pitching, degas for the the first couple of weeks and lots of crossing the fingers!!! It’s only going to be 2 one gallon batches so not loosing out too much if it goes tits up!!! (Uk expression)

    Fermentor air lock not bubbling

    I was worried about the same problem but it turned out to be the seal. The lid is bowed under the pressure of the co2 so I was happy to leave it and it turned out fine. I’ll eventually invest in a better quality fermentation tub but for now I’ll keep using it

    Hey all

    I’m quite new too and I picked a double IPA as my first brew and didn’t regret it! Even though the kit said to ferment for 7 days I fermented for 9 and conditioned it in the bottles for 4 weeks instead of 2. The patience was worth while as it was a cracking pint!!

    carbonation/ inquiring minds want to know

    I use carb drops, muntons or crafty fox. You get the exact amount of sugar in your bottle for carbonation. It’s a fail safe for newbie brewers like myself!
