I would use with no concern

Do You Have a Go-To Yeast Brand?

Fermentis (US-05) for Ales and Fermentis 34/70 for lagers. I've haven't used my stir plates and liquid yeast in years

    Done with liquid yeast

I'll chime in, I haven't used my stir plate or liquid yeast in years....and I mean 5 or more. I use 05 for every ale I make, with the exception of hazys (and I use a dry mixture for that). Even my lager and pilsners get the dry yeast treatment. There isn't enough of a difference to warrant...

    "Regular" Beer - American Lager

No, I haven't. But its a really small dose considering the size of the batch.

    "Regular" Beer - American Lager

Been a while since I have posted anything. I've always said one of the hardest beers to make is an American Lager. So hard to hide anything, and really....who has time, energy, fermenter capacity, and the will to make one? Well.... I've gotten to that point and thanks to having several Spike...

Filled Homebrew kegs - Storing and temp fluctuations

I store my kegs in my basement all the time. I even carb them at basement temps (60-65F). It's ok.... A keg is just a large bottle

    Northern Brewer - Buyer Beware

Its a shame actually. I too ordered from them about a month ago. No email confirming purchase or when it would be shipped. After about two weeks I sent an email asking what was up......within an hour I got an email saying my order had been shipped. The next day got an email saying they were...

    Podcast

So, a young man at work has a podcast with his friends. It's basically them reviewing some random beers each week. Now, if your looking for a beer nerd podcast.....this isn't it. They basically know pretty much zilch about craft beer. There is a lot of cussing and well.... adolescent...

Benefits of Liquid vs Dry Yeast

There is definitely more variety of liquid yeast. Having said that, its been years since I've used my stir plates. Dry yeast is just so convenient and readily available.

    Any (US) Electricians Here?

Check with your power company about who can make the connections for the "mast". Back in the day they would let us do it, but most states and power companies now require that they make the connections. A quick call may help you out.

Now it's my turn - what brew kettle and what size?

I'd go with the 20 gallon from Spike. They do custom ports and ship quickly. Very, very, good quality.

Help! Frigidaire 7.2 Chest Freezer Issues

I had to put my trusty girl out to pasture last year.

Safe to drill through side of this fridge?

I've done this with several fridges. Cut a hole on the inside of the fridge before you drill. Easily see where the lines are and drill. Never understood that folks that drill from the outside, and than the fridge is ruined.

Why Yes…I am a Beer Snob!
