I would like to do an American light beer for the wifey.

Can you not create a light beer without lagering or keeping at very low temps?? I don't have a ferm chamber and use the weather for ferm temps. My wife likes light beers and cant find a recipe that doesnt include cold chambering. Please help so I can get this chick a drink...lol created by me.

I brewed a john Palmer APA and the kit states OG 1.056 and FG at 1.013 I got a OG of 1.059 and a week 1/2 later (today) I have a FG reading of 1.020. I maintained temp with the evap method. Should I be concerned??? Do I need to pitch more yeast?
