Keg Cop: Keg Monitoring and Control

Does yours ever stop communicating to HA via MQTT after an extended period of time and just show "Unavailable" for everything in Home Assistant? Mine does that even though I can still get to the Keg Cop web GUI. If I reboot the ESP, then the data will show up again.....for a while (days? weeks...

My first SMaSH recipe. Opinions appreciated

I've not made a smash before and would like to try it. I hear you about the potential for lacking something. I'd like to brew something that I like, not just something I'll drink. Some thing really awesome would be even better. What about if I roast 3-4 lb of the malt it in the oven first? I've...

My first SMaSH recipe. Opinions appreciated

How about Nectaron on its own (keeping to the Single Malt and Single Hop theme)? Are you saying I'd need 2x the amount of Nectaron as I would Citra? I don't like hoppy beers. Brew Target is saying that my recipe with either Citra or Nectaron will be 26 IBU since both are about 12% AA.

My first SMaSH recipe. Opinions appreciated

I have some leftover grain after buying a 55 lb bag for a Tripel. Thought of trying a SMASH. I don't like overly bitter or hoppy beer. 10 gallon batch in the fermenter. I BIAB. I pressure ferment in corny kegs without temp control, but in a basement in the mid to high 60s. 22 lb Swaen Pilsner...

BrewPi@ESP8266, no need of RPI and Arduino.

I'm not familiar with any Huawei products, but in general.... You have your no-ip URL, right? Using your name here as an example...something like: noip.com/t1m1 or maybe t1m1.ddns.net And noip is set up correctly to point to your public IP? A way to test this is ping whatever your noip URL...

Keg Cop: Keg Monitoring and Control

@LBussy - what is intended to be put in the left side of the main enclosure? I have a 2-channel relay board but the holes don't line up with the screw posts. But I suspect a 2-channel relay is the intent of the left side. I'm running an SSR to control my compressor. Will the ubiquitous blue...

Minnesota NB and Midwest Stores Closing (Potentially affecting MN People)

I've been shopping at Beermeister the last few years (3 different locations of theirs). I didn't know about the "Spend $50, get 10% off" deal. I'll try to remember that next time. Beermeister has good prices on most everything. I recently exchanged a 5lb CO2 cylinder for about $23 after tax. I...

"Single" vessel fermentation and serve with pressure option

I'm on my 2nd batch of fermenting in corny kegs. First was a cream ale, and currently just finished a Belgian Tripel. I brew 10 gal at a time and have the 2 Fermentation corny keg gas ports Tee'd together and connected to the beer port on a 3rd "buffer" keg. The Blow-Tie is connected to the gas...

First pressure fermenting - how to measure final gravity?

I didn't think about this before deciding to pressure ferment in kegs.... I have both a refractometer and hydrometer. Can I use either one of those to get an accurate FG reading after pressure fermenting is complete? The Blow-Tie is currently reading about 10psi and I've been fermenting a...

How Many Gallons Brewed in 2023

Totally my fault. I used the first number I saw, not the sum. Hey, I went to public school - that's my excuse.

Keg Cop: Keg Monitoring and Control

Looking on Github for the cases. Is there supposed to be a bottom of the Daisy Chain board? I see 9 different tops but no bottom.

    CraftBeerPi - Raspberry Pi Software

I can ping the Internet from my Pi. Is there some config or setting in CBPi3 that I can fix to get the addons to show? pi@brewery:~ $ ping web.craftbeerpi.com PING manuel83.github.io (185.199.108.153) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from cdn-185-199-108-153.github.com (185.199.108.153)...

    CraftBeerPi - Raspberry Pi Software

Yes, I'm using an old version of CraftbeerPI. The controller crashed as I was starting to heat water for mashing. I don't have time to learn and set-up CBPi4. But it's been so long ago when I initially set up CBPi3, I don't remember if there was a trick to getting the addons to show up. Any...

    CraftBeerPi - Raspberry Pi Software

I had to re-install CraftbeerPi3. I think I had a bad SD Card. Now the Add-on page is blank. I've searched but don't see a way to get the addons to show up. Any suggestions?

Haven't brewed in a while - Craftbeerpi3 controller quit working. Going to try CBPi4. Why does stuff break???

Just a rant for my sanity... It's been quite a while since I've brewed. Why is it that beer equipment quits working when not being used. It's like clothes shrinking while being on a hanger for a long time. How does that happen? Getting ready to brew today and my long-time headless Craftbeerpi3...
