    3 pin lock cornies

Hey guys, I bought 10 cornies off a guy sight unseen and they were supposed to be ball locks. well three of them ended up being pin locks and I would rather get rid of them. I will trade for ball locks or maybe other brew gear or sell them outright. asking $20 a piece but would need to sell...

    1314 Strong Scotch Ale

    Keg for $10I bought a

looks like a hoff-stevens keg. Is the side bung welded up? can't tell from the pic. I have one that i cut the top off and use as my HLT. Had to do a little extra welding to seal up the extra holes but it works good now.

    keg to mlt

I did what you are talking about but I made the MT a tippy dump so that I could clean it easier. the arms that susoend it are mounted halfway up the keg so the bottom drain isn't resting on anything. Once the wort is transferred to the BK and I'm done sparging I can tip it up and dump the grains...

    Plate Chiller or Immersion?????

+1 for the CFC. My homemade CFC cost less than $50 and it works better than an immersion chiller and doesnt clog like a plate chiller

We need help with heat shielding our keggles

Yeah you definitely don't need to insulate the HLT or the BK. Polishing those kegs will look better anyways.

Anyone familiar with these 50L kegs?

I have one that I use a tippy-dump mash tun with a bottom drain. It was kind of a pain but I just cut down each side of the plastic rim with a recipricol saw and then peeled it off in chunks.

boil kettle filter for cold break, hops, etc?

I use a counterflow chiller. I whirlpool which is easy because the filter has a low profile in the tun, and then drain through the cfc. I use whole leaf hops although the filter seems to work well with pellet hops since it has a fairly large footprint in the tun.

    Mash tun ideas?

I use a keggle that is wrapped in a water heater insulation blanket (the kind that has reflective foil on both sides) and the aluminum HVAC tape. It works excellent and there is virtually no heat loss. my Mash Tun is also a bottom drain, tippy-dump with a 15" false bottom

boil kettle filter for cold break, hops, etc?

I used a 12"x12" sheet of stainless fabric, folded it in half and stiched the edges with fine stainless wire. cut a hole in top for my diptube..... simple and ridged filter. works great and costs about $10 and some time.

How much did your wort chiller cost?

built a 20' counterflow chiller for less than $60. I think it was closer to $50 for everything from home depot

    need recommendations for NY city

I'll have to hit those up too. I've seen mcsorley's featured on a travel channel show, sounds pretty cool. I think chelsea brewing is relatively close to where I'm staying (near madison square gardens)
