    Recipe help by your experts

Hello again BrewnWKopperKat I have ordered the material for the Bituminous Stout. Along the way I ran into an issue with Brewers Licorice Stick. It is no longer available from most sources but I did find some. You mentioned you have the original recipe contained in a copy "Bituminous...

I am confused -- must be something I am missing. In the above items [1] and [2] have the oz showing and they add up to larger than 1 pound (22.5 and 27 respectively) yet the label and discussions says (per pound) for the ounces category. There must be an assumption/fact that I am missing here.

Thank you so much. For some reason your 'logo' does not allow PM action, other 'logos' do allow it. I do not know why. What I did not say in my initial thread is that my daughter has stage IV cancer and this will be her last Mother's Day. I wanted it to be special and I believe you have made...

    Planning spreadsheet

About 2005 Mr. Mike Zapolski started a spreadsheet to help with mead recipe planning. The last time it was updated seems to be 2008. I located a copy of that spreadsheet and used it as the basis for an expanded version that has information regarding SNA protocols and lots of additional...

My new indoor BIAB kettle- too big or ok?

Another view... BIAB with 15# of grains means that the bag when soaked will weigh about 35# and be HOT. Your range hood prevents you from lifting it up and letting it drain without some gymnastics. I bought a propane burner, used it on the floor near my chiller area and put a hook in a rafter...

    Yeast versus sweetness

I need some advice on yeast versus sweetness. My experience is limited but I have researched and read a variety of materials. At this point I am definitely confused… I am planning a mead with an OG of 1.12. I want the finished product to be slightly sweet. If I use Lalvin 71B-1122...
