    Cashmere

I'm no certified judge so don't put a lot of faith in my old senses, but I get some fruitiness, a hint of citrus, and some herbal bordering on piney.

    Cashmere

Not when you're using free hops.

    Caraway Seeds for Rye Ale

Every so often I brew a rye porter and use caraway seeds.

    Cashmere

I just took a gravity reading on the smash IPA I brewed with cashmere 11 days ago. These are awesome👍👍.

What's the deal with UK malt?

It does. Last year I got a bag of Crisp #19 floor malted maris otter. The first beer I brewed with it was a bitter that came out great and it had an 8 point higher original gravity than the previous version of the recipe using non floor malted m o.

    Michigan Hop Alliance

Michigan hop allience went above and beyond what could be expected. Even though I wasn't an actual customer and they wasn't responsible for the repackaged samples I received they sent me some cashmere hops free of charge. They smelled heavenly.

    Rye malt for Guinness

You won't get much effect on flavor using only 5%. The closest that I ever got to the sour tanginess of Guinness was when I cold steeped the roast barley overnight, but left it out at room temperature instead of putting it into the fridge.

    Michigan Hop Alliance

It turns out that Michigan hop allience doesn't deal in less than one pound and they don't give away samples. So the ones I got were repackaged by someone who did not properly store them. I should've been suspicious by the non standard amounts in the packs: 1.4 ozs, 2.65 ozs, etc.

    Bad hops

No the packaging had the name of the original supplier. I've been in contact with the original supplier: they only deal in large packs (1 lb or larger) and they don't give sway samples.

    Bad hops

It looks like the hops I received were repackaged by someone other than the original supplier and they had no control over how the hops were handled.

What do I brew for my girl?

Give her a copy of the BJCP guidelines, have her read the discriptions and have her tell you if anything sounds good to her.

    $12 dry yeast for beer?

$12 for one pack of dry yeast? Too rich for my blood. Recently I got 5 packs of nottingham for less than $17.
