    Too much mash water

I think I should get brewing software. All kidding aside, I have beersmith, but can't figure out how to determine efficiency. I'll keep searching around.

    Too much mash water

How do I calculate efficiency? I know part of the equation is the preboil gravity, but what else?

    Too much mash water

So, rookie mistake. My first AG and I miscounted my mash water. Instead of using 1.25 quarts of water per pound of grain I used 1.6 quarts. I've been mashing now for about 15 minutes. I know I need to use less sparge water now to get my boil volume, but what sort of affect is this going to have...

    Firts AG question(s)

Does fly sparge=continuous sparge? Why would you need a special sparge arm for that. Why can't you just open a nozzle on the sparge water tank and let it pour in slowly but continously? Also, I heard that if you stop collecting sparge water once you reach your volume your efficiency can drop...

It indicates a two step mash schedule 153 for an hour, and 170 for 10 minutes. That means a single step infusion...

    weldless fitting

I'd like to put a weldless fitting onto my stockpot, but don't want to shell out the 30 bucks to buy one from someplace on the internet. Does anyone have a parts list and some pseudo directions so I can just put it together myself? I'm not much of a DIYer, but this seems fun, I might just need...
