    Klarstein XXL brewing system

When I was brewing I did a 3 vessel gravity feed propane system. Here it seems that a propane brew in the bag would be the simplest and cheapest option for me to get back into the brewing world. However this is probably my one chance to upgrade into to another system so that's why I was...

    Klarstein XXL brewing system

Yeah, I had already noticed that basically I was looking at a Chinese all-in-one system with klarstein labelling. After reading the reviews, which seem fairly positive, I am back on the fence whether to go back to propane and brew in the bag which would be cheap to set up here or go ahead and...

    Klarstein XXL brewing system

Thanks, I had found another which also ranked the 30l favorably, maybe I should look at it instead. I really enjoy DIY for my beer equipment and in the past made all but the glassware. Was thinking of going electric this time. I have been out of the hobby for 12ish years, lurking here to keep...

    Klarstein XXL brewing system

Has any one tried or owned one of these all-in-one systems? I am in Ireland now so many of the systems I have heard of or am familiar with are not available here. Found one site that gave one of their smaller systems (this one is 50l) favorable reviews but can not find any on this system.

    Circuit board look Kegerator

Have to admit that my first reaction was a frown and "Oh, hell no!" But after seeing the pics/mockups that is very cool! Kudos

    5 gallon carboy kit?

Many on here may, but you/I don't necessarily, know when there will be need for a blow off, so I use them for all my brews for the first few days then transition to a bubbler when things settle down. Welcome

    I'm a newbie and I don't know where to start :/

Charlie Papazian's book The Complete Joy of Home Brewing is a great first intro to the brewing world.

What animals will dig up planted rhizomes?

Had not heard that before, but the Hop rhizome never had a chance to get more than a few inches out of the ground. May have to rethink my process if I plant again

What animals will dig up planted rhizomes?

Man's best friend. My dog LOVED one of my hops! Was one I found enveloping an old cabin in the mountains, dug some up and brought it home...... Twice! The dog won.

    Newbie that needs help

I noticed you refered to "pouring" your beer into the keg. If you are indeed pouring, and not carefully syphoning, your beers my be having an oxidation problem.

    How much light is bad?

As stated above, error on the side of caution. I stopped into a charity/thrift shop and picked up a half dozen or so pillow cases. Cut a notch out of the closed end and they slide right over my carboys allowing me access to the airlock. Should work for buckets too.

    Sewing bag seam

Not sure fishing line would take the heat well.

    wort aeration

Definately use stone! Someone will chime in with the science but you want small bubbles!! I aerate until I foam out the opening which has never reached 10 minutes. Aerate as long as possible would be my advice. Slainte

    Beer Brewing Cart Build

Nice job! We built very similar brew sculptures. Mine was from bedframes and has seriously ugly, but stout, welds. A comment and what I did as a solution: your bottom platform, as mine was, is to low to syphon out of unless you have some sort of hole to put your fermentor. In my case raising...
