    Getting 84% Apparent Attenuation with US-05? Why so high?

    Did you ever solve this? Made a pale ale over the summer using US-05 and it turned out too dry with an apparent attenuation of 85% (fg 1008, when we've rarely had below 1014 in previous beers).

    fitting a fermenting lock

    sorry if this has been posted - had a search but couldn't find anything... has anyone fitted a fermenting lock to a brew bin? what sort of equipment is required? i'm assuming it'll be o-rings etc.? would it be better just buying a new bin with an airlock fitted? Cheers!
