    First Recipe - Need Opinions

I probably only stirred 3-4 times. I'll definitely try to get them to do a finer mill. Man I really want a mill.

To be honest I'm not totally sure of the differences between the two. My understanding is that pale male is a bit maltier and plain 2-row is well, plainer or simpler. I guess my thought is that 15lb of pale malt would be a lot, but I do want some maltiness, so 10lb is good with 5lb of 2-row.

Alright I edited the OP to c60 1/2 lb. Also considering victory and no crystal. Though I'm not sure how much to use Thoughts on the hops and timing/quantities?

I started with 40 but I'd need 2lb to get the desired SRM. That's way too much right? I should I just do .5-1lb of 40 and have a lighter beer? .5lb of 60 seems to give me 9 SRM. thats pretty good

    First Recipe - Need Opinions

So I've done an all grain kit with 13lb of grains, .5 oz magnum and 3 intervals of 1 oz citra. It came out great as a pale ale so I decided to make a hoppier IPA while still using citra. My efficiency was a bit low the first time around. I brew in a bag and will sparge water over the grains...

    Carbonation within 12 hours?

Found out what was bothering me. The wort was fermenting nicely when I checked it out this morning but the bubbler wasn't doing anything. I took off the stopper and got hit in the face with a pressure wave from the fermenter. Upon inspecting the stopper I noticed it stepped down and made the...

    Carbonation within 12 hours?

Will do. I poured my kettle wort into the fermenter pretty hard and swished the fermenter around then sealed it up. Then this morning I was reading you should vigorously shake it for 45 seconds. I figured I probably didn't aerate it enough so I stirred and sloshed it around with a spoon for a...

    Carbonation within 12 hours?

Sorry, trying to rush a post before I step out the door for work. The recipe estimates 1.058. I didn't take a measurement yesterday. I took a measurement today (12 hours later) and got 1.053, that should be pretty close to OG right? What my OG would have been yesterday I mean. I figure I'll...

    Carbonation within 12 hours?

After a long day yesterday with my first brew I packed it off into the fermenter and went to bed. 12 hours later I could not see any signs of bubbling in my airlock, but im pretty sure it wasn't airtight so I rubbed everything with rubbing alcohol and redid the lid, stopper and airlock. While I...

Purchasing All the Required Home Brew Components, Need Help/Judgement

I am a complete novice to beer brewing, but I have done some reading and I'm ready to jump in with both feet. I've helped my brother in the past but he's been out of it for a long time (10+ years). I feel like I've read more now than he did back when he brewed lol. For me, I'm looking for a...
