Difference between 2 weeks & 4 weeks fermentation

The more important thing is to check your gravity readings to see when it is actually done fermenting. Best Beer Podcasts?

I'll have to check out Experimental Brewing! I always thought the Beersmith one was dry as well. I figured it would scare new brewers into thinking the hobby is boring. Cheers, Matt

    Yeast types?

That's awesome. Thank you! My only other question is are they good for those types because of the way they react during the whole process or do they add a flavor that works well with those styles? Or possibly both lol. Thank you again! Cheers

First IPA.... Posible Clone Rebel IPA

For a 5 gallon batch I would use this. I looked up a few different clone recipes and they all seem pretty universal with their hops and boil times. 1.5 ozCascade60 min 0.5 ozSimcoe30 min 0.5 ozChinook20 min 0.5 ozCentennial5 min 0.5 ozAmarillo1 min

First IPA.... Posible Clone Rebel IPA

Sounds good. If you aren't a fan of that pine flavor make sure you use west coast style hops and hops with a lower alpha acid so you get more of the aroma rather than the higher IBU

Any brewers in the Red Hook/Rhinebeck area?

I am very new to Home brew and am trying to learn as much as I can. I figure a good way to start is by seeing how strong the local home brew community is in my area.

What local craft beer do you take for granted.

I would have to say either Keegan Ales in Kingston, NY, or Other Half from NYC. They both make amazing beers but because it is so accessible to me I find myself not drinking them as much.
