PB2 - To Sanitize or Not to Sanitize?

Update: I just so happened to have ~1 gallon of the same porter recipe I am using to add the peanut butter flavor to already kegged and ready to drink. I ran to my local homebrew shop yesterday and picked up a bottle of the Brewer's Best Natural Peanut Butter Flavoring. Popped the keg open...

PB2 - To Sanitize or Not to Sanitize?

Did you take a sample from the bottling bucket? How much flavor did the extract add? And I had the same worry about the PB2 sanitizing. It would probably take too much water to boil, but at the same time, I'm terrified of just putting it into the secondary.

PB2 - To Sanitize or Not to Sanitize?

I've seen various other threads about using PB2 in brews, but nothing specifically about this. I have a porter that I added a container of PB2 to 5 min before flame out. This is the first time I've used it, and I tasted it after primary was complete - there's a tiny hint of peanut, but...

Imperial Yeast Stefon - Fast Fermentation!

So I've been trying to perfect my hefeweizen this summer. I've got my third batch fermenting right now. My local homebrew shop was out of Wyeast 3068, but they said Imperial Yeast Stefon was the same Weihenstephaner strain. I pitched this stuff at the same temp as my other two batches, but...

Diacetyl in Witbier - already kegged

Quick update: It's been sitting out for about 3 days now. Just hooked it back up to the tap for a quick sample and it's clearing up nicely. I'm going to leave it out for another day or two and it should be great. It's sad to think that if it's working this quickly when the beer's already been...

Diacetyl in Witbier - already kegged

Thanks everyone! Unfortunately I didn't harvest any of the yeast, but I wasn't too careful during transfer either, so there should be plenty left in the keg. Should I bleed the CO2 off from the carbonation or leave it?

Diacetyl in Witbier - already kegged

Hi all, First of all, let me apologize if this question has already been asked and answered elsewhere. I searched but didn't find quite this exact scenario. I brewed a Belgian wit with Wyeast 3944. It's already been kegged and carbonated, and after carbonation I noticed a stronger dacetyl...

    Unmounted 2-Way CO2 Manifold?

Hi all, I'm building a 2-keg kegerator. Both kegs will be run off the same 5lb CO2 tank with a 2-way manifold to split the line. My problem is, right now the only drilling I have to do is on the front door. I just ruined another mini fridge by accidentally cracking the cooling line and would...

    Unmounted 2-Way CO2 Manifold?

Hi all, I'm in the process of building a 2-keg kegerator. Both of the kegs will be run off the same 5lb CO2 tank with a 2-way manifold to split the line. My only problem is, I don't want to accidentally hit a wire/cooling line mounting the manifold. I just ruined another mini-fridge and don't...

    Danby Designer DAR440BL Kegerator

Hi all, First, my apologies if this question has already been asked. I'm about to make a 2-keg kegerator out of a Danby Designer DAR440BL I found on Craiglists. I just have one quick question for those of you who may have used this fridge. What size of keg do I need to buy in order to...
