    Spring 2024 Corny Keg Giveaway

Just tapped my last brew this past weekend. I call it Strider IPA designed similar to Voodoo Ranger. Lots of Mosac, Citra, Centennial in dry hop. Great beer

    Summer 2023 Corny Keg "Giveaway

Usually between 2 - 5 kegs, but I also use the CO2 to purge kegs of stars and to fill kegs using a spunding valve. As well as to keep fermentor at 10psi during fermentation if needed, like after dry hopping.

FREE TEST for INKBIRD CO2 Detector

It would be nice , in my closed garage, to monitor CO2 levels when I open the kegerator, purge kegs, release CO2 from the 1/2 bbl Spike uniting and compare to a background level. CO Carbon Monoxide I'm not too worried about as I'm all electric. Looks like a great product.

    Universal Poppets??

Agree. But my John Wood keg looks like it uses these as do the Challenger VI. based on the used o rings that I pulled off them. We will see.

    Universal Poppets??

I completely switched my 5 kegs to universal a few years ago. Since then all I get out of my taps is foam. I changed all the o rings and still I get foam. I don't over carbonate as it is usually around 11.7psi. I don't get foam from commercial kegs only kegs with universal poppets. So I am...

    ergonomics-friendly brewing setup?

You have a lot of confidence in those handles. Not sure I'd trust them for long, especially on the ferementer .

    Is my kit expired?

Brew it as is, get fresh yeast. This is fresher than when I started brewing in 1970 when we used hops that looked like a chewing tobacco plug.

American IPA West Coast-ish IPA/Pale ale

I just bought some Gambrinus Honey Malt to use in place of the Munich/Vienna. Will add it at the 12% of grist. All the rest the same except for hops where I use Chinook, Amarillo, Cascade, Citra, Mosaic mix. Any one try this Honey malt this way?

American IPA West Coast-ish IPA/Pale ale

Very similar to a pale ale I brew on a regular basis. Only difference is I use Munich at 10% and Pale Ale at 10%. I also limit any Crystal to less than 3%. My IBU's are around 58. Good balance and flavor. Next time I will up Munich to 15%. ABV stays in the 5.5 range. I also hop with Simco...

    Old style IPA

We brewed what we called a "Old style with a Twist". Turned out excellent, but did not take any photos. It was very clear and disappeared very fast. Probably my best brew to date as we are rebreeding it soon.

    SS Chronical 14 gals

I have a Spike CF15 1/2 Bbl Unitank. I put the short leg extensions and caster wheels to raise it up enough so I could easily clean it in place with a CIP spray ball hooked to a 1/6 hp submersible pump. With the added height I can flow the run off straight into a 5 gal bucket with the pump and...

    London trip recommendation

I use the "cask finder app" to find pubs near me with good cask ale's when in England or Scotland. It has led me to a lot of good beer and nice pubs.
