    Dampfbier recipes & success stories?

just finished the article and it sounds like this could be a good beer to use a firkin or barrel to secondary it in and then serve right from that. z-bob, when you say it started growing on you... how so? did it mellow over time?

    Unsucessfull Yeast Harvest

Interested to see the solutions to this, i've had similar problems. I tried saving wee heavy yeast and never really noticed any separation but I used very little hops so I wonder if thats whats going on here?

Advice needed: should I upgrade to a HERMS system

I'd agree with Augie, the electric setup can be nice but I think I'd spend the money first on fermentation control - I used a freezer with an inkbird temp controller - Craigslist = cheap freezer. I think that made the biggest difference in consistency and quality for me. That being said I did...

    Ordinary Bitter All Brittania

Did you save any bottles from the old batch to compare to the second batch? I wonder if non bjcp people could tell a difference between the two. Oh, just out of curiosity, can I ask your scores? I'm assuming my California common won on a weak category and figure to really do we you need an...

    Ordinary Bitter All Brittania

Nice job! I put a few in that competition, my scotch ale did well in points (i think? 78/100 combined) but didn't place and my california common did well but I think it was a weaker category. Are you entering the same batch in all of these or have you brewed multiple batches over the last few...

    Camlock to Ball Lock Post

I have the 630s. I'll have to look up if there is a cleaning adapter rather than taking the faucet off.

    Camlock to Ball Lock Post

looks like a good idea, i'll try one out. I have a few of your ball lock to ball lock adapters so i'd like to set it up to pump cleaner from a bucket through the tap line, out the one faucet post (remove the faucet) back into another faucet post down the line, through the ball lock to ball lock...

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

Stone's "go to IPA" It wasn't the worst beer I have had but it was one that I was probably the most disappointed in. I've loved most of Stone's beers so I had high hopes for this one but to me it just had a very bland flavor. To be honest i'm not sure exactly what about it I didn't like but it...

What do you consider the ultimate bottling set up

I third what m00ps said. I'd like to get the counterpressure stuff setup but I've just sanitized the bottles in the dishwasher, put the bottling bucket next to it and just pull form there. The bottle wand on the bucket with the dishwasher door down keeps drips / any screwups to a minimum clean...

    Building a kegerator.

Agree completely.... some of their stuff has been great - I use their large low speed drill for my grain crusher and its been great. But for drilling, I've found I like the whole saws much better

    Building a kegerator.

I bought those HF bits, tried using it to drill a hole in my keggle... bit failed before it was even finished drilling the first hole. Save your money and buy a good bit or a good hole saw (i used a spring loaded metal hole saw and it worked great but you need one for each different size)
