Went to Denver about a year ago and hit up a lot of breweries the stand out for me was Bierstadt Lagerhaus. Slow pour pils is something special. Also dug Woods Boss Brewing.
Thinking about giving Imperial yeast a try for my next batch. Looks like there are quite a few options that sound like they would work well for this style. Does anyone have experience with these? There’s one called dry hop which I guess is a blend of Conan and sach trois. Might give that a go.
Okay I’m glad it’s not just me. I was looking around and I see that it has been mentioned before. I wonder if this is just how the beer will be going forward or if they are still trying to get things dialed in as they increase production. I’ll def try to get up there again in a month or 2 maybe...
I also made it up to treehouse this week and got the same variety of beers. This is only my second visit to the new location and I got to say these don’t seem like the same beers I used to get back in Monson. Maybe it’s just me but everything seemed a little bit muted. Aroma was lacking...
Yea I thought of that. I had a small amount of DME on hand that I threw in. Just going to ride it out. I don’t mind a lower abv beer, actually kind of prefer it lately. Just wasn’t was I was shooting for here. Gonna put the grain mill on the Xmas list though! Recommendations?
Brewed this recipe up again for the first time in awhile. Went with Galaxy/Citra/Denali, 1318. Pretty bummed the 2 row I received from Morebeer was very poorly crushed so I ended up with a SG of 1.047. Anyone had this problem with Morebeer? Guess I will end up with a session IPA, not really what...
Awesome thread. Looks like I got a lot of options now. I was also thinking about checking out a ball game. The cubs and white sox are playing each other the week I am there. Would love to do Wrigley but White sox tickets will probably end up being a lot cheaper and easier. If you end up going...
Thanks for the replies guys. Think I got a bit to work with here. I'll be staying in the loop area which is sorta far from a lot of the breweries but I'll have some time to kill a couple of the days. Also I guess I'll try my luck Tuesday to see if I can track down any zombie dust. Any...
Is Zombie Dust hard to find in beer stores? How about other 3 floyds brews? I've had a couple of beers from pipeworks that I dug so I'll keep an eye out for them. That Dunkel rye sounds interesting too.
Hey, anybody have any beer, bar, or brewery recommendations to check out in Chicago. I'll be going for a few days at the end of the month. Was planning on checking out half acre and lagunitas.
Might be a dumb question, but when purging kegs before filling them what's the difference between filling the keg completely with water or sanitizer and pushing it out with co2 and taking an empty keg hooking it up to co2 letting it fill the keg and pull the release valve a few times?
