    Intentionally underpitching a hefe?

Theres a couple statements to be made here I think. 1. Underpitching is one way to get more banana flavors from a Hefe, but any method that stresses out the yeast will suffice. Another very common method is to ferment at a higher temperature, which for some is a much easier method then...

    Beer cooling line help!

I had a system set up very similar to this, and I did have issues with foaming. A small fan pointed up the tower really did the job though and was all I needed to keep the lines chilled. I'd use just a computer fan or something of the same size, doesnt take much.

    Cake Still Standing

Can you take a gravity? That'll tell you exactly where its at. Otherwise I'd let it go until the cake drops, but I don't use secondary fermentation so our process is different.

    Beersmith Decoction Schedule

At what water to grain ratio are you mashing? There are a few assumptions you can make to back check beersmith's calcs. Essentially the temperature adjustment will be the volume of wort in the mash (V1) times the starting temperature of that wort (122) (T1) + the volume of the final decoction...

The Keezer build & freezer dimensions threads?

I seem to remember there being stickies of both a "show us your keezer build" and dimensions of a ton of freezers with size of keg/carboys that would fit. Does anyone know what happened to those threads? I thought they were in this forum, but I might be wrong. Thanks!

Atlanta, GA folks I could use some advice!

Yes Yes and Yes. Played sports with the Pfaff's and Bofenkamps, knew Garrett but he was a few years ahead of me.

Atlanta, GA folks I could use some advice!

You'll find most places have AC, but its something to verify and that its been serviced lately. I grew up in Palouse, went to Wazzu 2007-2010 and left after that. Family still lives there so I make it back now and again.

Atlanta, GA folks I could use some advice!

Sup fellow coug! I wanted to chime in here as perhaps the only other person ever to make the move from outside of Pullman (Palouse) to Atlanta. A few comments: 1. The beer scene is growing, but of course isnt Washington. The breweries mentioned up thread are all pretty good, I'd add Creature...

    Regulator Pressure

Thanks Doug, thats exactly the sort of information I was looking for. Over the last 24 hours the pressure has stabilized which is great news, but now I worry that the 10 psi shown on the gauge might not be whats actually being applied to the keg if the regulator is faulty. Would the temperature...

    Regulator Pressure

I put my first pin lock keg on CO2 last night at 10psi. Right now the keg is not in my keezer so it is warm, but I wanted to get a head start on carbonating while I got the keezer cleaned up. After setting the pressure and making sure there were no leaks I came back to check the keg after a...

    Steeping Grain Procedure

I have a question about methods for getting steeping grains to the correct temp. After doing my first brew I learned some different techniques from my BIL for extract and steeping grains and wanted to get some feedback. My original method for steeping grains was to start heating my water on...
