    HELP!!! Beer didn't carb

Thanks for the input Sammy, my issue is as this is my normal fridge and not one set aside for just brewing I've been down to 2 shelves for 2 weeks now LOL it's beginning to be a pain in the ace. It's a ball lock corny keg I got from norther brewer along with the 5lb co2 bottle and dual reg...

    HELP!!! Beer didn't carb

Hey Doug no I kept the gas on at all times. I'm fairly new to brewing and very new to kegging but I have a lot of experience with paintball guns both CO2 and high pressure so I feel pretty confident in dealing with the keg, regs and fittings.

    HELP!!! Beer didn't carb

Hey redlegEd, so I'm not sure exactly what it should sound like but I got what I would consider more of a short burst for a second or two and them it reduced to a pretty low hiss. I noticed that the 5lb CO2 tank which was full is down quite a bit especially considering this was the only keg...

Hey obsessed, this is pretty much exactly what I did and it's still not carbed very well. I kept the supply line open though while pouring my test pull though

    HELP!!! Beer didn't carb

Hi Sammy, so I originally started with 15 PSI for a week but after I tried it bumped it up to 20PSI and let it sit for another week. Unfortunately I'm brewing in an apartment so I only have my full size fridge that doesn't have a temp gauge. I think it's pretty close to freezing though bc I...

    HELP!!! Beer didn't carb

So I tried carbing my beer in a keg for the first time. I'm not quite sure what went wrong, maybe my refrigerator is too cold...iono. The problem is that now I have keg full of beer that actually tastes pretty damn good except for the fact it's not very well carbonated. Can I try to carb...

    Cold crashing and bottling

Hey guys, I am beginning to cold crash my beers for a few days with gelatin to help with the clarity. I did this on my last brew a seasonal ale and I was amazed at how clear the beer looked going into the bottling bucket. My question is do I need to let the beer warm back up to the temperature...

    Brewing without hops?

Thanks guys, the tea and soft drink references are along the lines of what I was thinking. Specifically a root beer type soft drink or iced tea style alcoholic beverage I figured the sweetness would go well with both of these...may have to do some small batch experiments!

    Brewing without hops?

I know this question has probably been asked a few times but hopefully this is a different take on it. I know you can brew without hops and use herbs ala gruit but my question is can you brew without any type of bittering agent? I would assume that using just grains and some sort of LME/DME...

    Wort smells sour???

OK!!! so foam is gone and the sour smell with it??? smells like beer again...I took another reading while I had it open and is looks like it came down just a little bit to just below 1.015. Everything look ok? Is it normal to have the residue on the side of the bucket? Leave it for...

    Wort smells sour???

Hi calypso, so sanitation was basically just washing everything that came in contact with the wort or ingredients with antibacterial soap and letting it dry, probably not the preferred method lol but I have since bought some cleaner meant specifically for it. Transfer method was just pouring...

    Wort smells sour???

Haha yea my bad, I posted that late last night so I was a little tired. I will definitely take a pic and post it tonight so you guys can get an idea of what it looks like. The foam itself looked more like a thin layer of head from a freshly poured beer, maybe it was from moving it out of the...

    Wort smells sour???

Hi I just started brewing and this is my first batch. I dont feel like I am off on the right foot though. My stove cut off 45 mins into boiling my yeast and I only saw bubbles from the fermentation for the first 2 days. I waited 7 days and tested the gravity with a hydrometer 2 days ago and it...
