    Blichmann Brewcommander question

For those that have them can you adjust the boil setting or is it always 100%. I have looked over the manual and the Blichmann site but didn't see any reference to being able to adjust the boil intensity. Nevermind… I just re-read the manual and there is a note about it on one of the first...

I'm sad - 2 LHBS in my area have closed.

That’s a bummer. The one near my house just closed this past year. I went there to pick up ingredients and it was closed. Fortunately there is a nice shop about 10 minutes from my office so I can swing through there on a lunch break, but I do miss the small independent shop that was near my house.

    Need help tracking Instagram account.

Already done, Instagram removed some of the content but not all. Also the account has gone out to her friends and others in the school, can’t block that.

    Need help tracking Instagram account.

my daughter is being bullied by an anonymous Instagram account. Is it possible to find out where the account is originating from? Instagram has not been very helpful in this matter. I will be more than happy to share details via PM. Thanks guys.

Refrigerator vs freezer for fermentation chamber

This. I have had both and much prefer the refrigerator. I have a side by side I got cheap and store extra co2 on the freezer side.

Trying to decide on some new equipment

Biggest suggestion would be to buy a 15gallon boil kettle. Just invade you ever want to do a 10 gallon batch. I never thought I would want to do 10 gallon batches, but am now looking towards doing 2-3 per year to help keep my pipeline full.

    Best book(s) on beer styles?

Hands down brewing classic styles as it gives you recipes for every style. It is one thing to read about a style, it is a whole other to brew/drink a style. For the basics hard to beat palmers book or the complete joy of home brewing.

Texas NW Houston Blichmann Hopblocker &bottles

Up for sale for $30, a blichmann hopblocker that has been used 3 times. It works great, but I don't brew hoppy beers so I don't really need it. Also with it is 2 cases of bottles, all double rinsed and never used for homebrew. They still have labels but the Porter labels come off clean and easy...

    Extract brewing is FAKE brewing

Really unless you combine your own oxygen and hydrogen to make pure water to build from, you are't a real brewer.

Got the Final Draft 5BBL system set picts.

True, lots of uses for that water. It sure is a slick looking setup!

Got the Final Draft 5BBL system set picts.

I would think you could run strike water from the hlt though the condenser to preheat it for a second follow on batch.

Got the Final Draft 5BBL system set picts.

Looks like they are condensing water vapor from the kettle, I assume this is to heat the mash tun? Recycle the water?

Resurrect dead keezer with a mini-fridge?

Sounds like low refrigerant. You likely have a leak in the system. My old freezer died, so I dissected it and found that some of the cooking coils were steel, needless to say you get some moisture in there and the coils rust out.

    Fridge water?

The stores around here have water bottles (empty) for sale by the machines in one, and in the kitchen wares section in another. The ones I bought were about $5 each. You then take those to the machine, put it under the spout and hit the on button. They usually fill 1 gallon then shut off, so you...
