Going electric and at a loss

I'm putting together a new ebiab setup currently and I was in the same boat. After a few weeks of research, I realized I could definitely build one, but with a 10 month old son and another one on the way, I know I would never have the time. I found the Jaggerbush Bbr1.0 online and I think it's...

    Night Shift Brewing Whirlpool Clone

I kegged, carbed and kicked my version this past weekend. The smell was amazing and I blew through 5 gallons in an afternoon. It was light, heavy with tropical fruit notes and super crushable. I had more than a few people ask me what else was in it. They thought I was lying when I said only one...

    Arizona Electronic Brewery Panel

I'm starting to see why it might have been left behind. He could have been in a hurry!

Not new to kegging - but need help please

If you have C02 in the tank (which I firmly believe we've established ) and you know there's pressure in the headspace (I'm assuming the pressure guage on the regulator is correct), the only other variable is temperature. How cold is the beer? If you had a leak significant enough to make the...

Not new to kegging - but need help please

3.9 lbs in the tank isn't good when you're shooting for 12 lbs in the keg... unless we're talking about weight and not psi...

    Cold Crash/Dry Hop

I usually dry hop in the 68-70 range (ambient for my brew room) for 4 to 5 days, then crash for 3 and keg.

What is your Favorite IPA recipe?

Yes, it adds a level of dankness. This has been established. If you are a clean beer guy who isn't into the dank, earthy hop funk, I'd say stay away from it. I like some bottom end on my IPAs, so I brew doubles and use funky hops for some backbone. I'll bet you make some really clean beers. You...

What is your Favorite IPA recipe?

I made this for an annual camping trip with the guys. It's super flavorful and the bitterness is manageable. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?p=6936092#post6936092

MoreBeer Pliny vs. Northern Brew Plinian

I did the NB one last year. Turned out well enough. I thought it was bitter, but my hop head friends loved it. I did an all grain clone recipe i got on HBT this year and it's fantastic! I don't think I'll ever get it as good as the real thing, but it's close enough for camping!

    Night Shift Brewing Whirlpool Clone

I did some digging and came up with an old twitter post from Night shift: [URL="https://mobile.twitter.com/nightshiftbeer/status/449608305191964672"] The math comes out at .5oz/gallon. They also state they're using American Ale yeast. So, I went for it. 9lb pilsner (2srm) 3lb malted wheat...

Faster Brew Day Tips for a New Dad

My son is just about 4 months old, and I've brewed more in the last 4 months than I have in the year before that. I found that BIAB, simple recipes and cleaning up as I go have made the biggest difference. Switching to BIAB has my total brew day, cleaned and stored, down to 4.5 hours. Having a...
