All barley light beer for Christmas Soup

My family has a Christmas tradition of a "Cheese Corn Soup" with a beer base. I'm finding light beers without a lot of hops are best for this purpose. Any recommendations for an all-barley malt light beer with low hops for cooking?

Nearly empty kegs = CO2 dumps from regulator?

Hello, I just chased down a CO2 leak, but now I'm experiencing problems keeping the co2 under control for two corny kegs running off the supply. Both kegs are well below half full. I can set the regulator for 8psi, when I return the next day the reg is overpressurized at 20 or more psi. This...

Passive cooling with blue ice in a tub

I have a small 15 gallon tub that I can use to chill for fermentation. Seems like it would work well, except that the gap between the tub and the carboy is so tight that big blue icepacks won't fit, much less 2 liter bottles. Seem's like blue ice packs designed to match the curve of a carboy...

    Fullers ESB

After an attempt at a Best Bitter, I tried Fuller's ESB. The plum/currant notes were really noticeable (and pleasant). My 6 gallon recipe called for 8lbs of Maris Otter, 12 oz of Crystal 80, 8 oz of Biscuit Malt. I used Wyeast 1968. I got none of that complex flavor, but my recipe was only 4.5%...

Paw paw wheat beer and fruit seeds

I've lucked into several pounds of paw paw fruit :), and am planning a paw paw wheat soon :mug:. The fruits are easy to halve and easy to scrape from the rind. The seeds are, however, numerous, large and almost impossible to separate. Would plonking the skinned fruit seeds and all into the...
