Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Its spent just about 2 weeks in the bottle and I couldn't wait any longer to try one. It's a great lawnmower beer! In my notes the only thing I wrote down was to dry hop with a little cascade and/or centennial when I brew it again. And I'll definitely be brewing it again!

    Blue Moon Clone

Bottled this last week and tried one tonight because I couldn't wait another week to try it. Wow! My first batch tasted great but I would have no trouble picking out my beer from a real blue moon. With this batch I'm not so sure. I'll have to get a blue moon and do a comparison but this is spot...

Help developing an orange pale ale recipe

I don't remember ever seeing it at my local homebrew shop so I'm not sure how easily I can get it.

Help developing an orange pale ale recipe

    Ok here's the recipe I came up with. Won't get around to brewing it until next weekend. 9.5lbs 2 row 1lb vienna 1lb C10 0.5oz Amarillo 60 min (12.6 ibu) 0.5oz Amarillo 20 min (7.6 ibu) 0.5oz Ahtanum 20 min (5.6 ibu) 0.5oz Amarillo 5 min (2.5 ibu) 0.5oz Ahtanum 5 min (1.8 ibu) 0.5oz...

Help developing an orange pale ale recipe

I'm looking to brew a citrus pale ale for my next brew after the overwhelming popularity of my blue moon clone. Right now I'm leaning towards a light grain bill of 2 row, Vienna, and c10 trying to keep it around 5%abv. What do you guys think for hops? All citra? Citra, cascade, and Amarillo...

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

My first attempt at centennial blonde and my second try at blue moon. Should be 2 great summer beers :).

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Brewed this today and got crazy good efficiency. I ended up with a half gallon more than planned and was still 2 points over my expected gravity. All that means is more beer for me! [emoji16]. I'll give an update in a month or so when it's fermented, bottled, and carbed!

    Blue Moon Clone

I made this again last week and decided to change almost everything from my first try. Not because the first batch was bad (it was excellent) but because I could. My first attempt I followed Wayne's original recipe and used 3 tsp of orange peel and coriander. This time I substituted the two...

My water profile, mash ph, and attenuation

For liquid yeasts yes, and I use a calculator to determine how large of a starter to make based on quantity and OG of my wort. Edit: And I use a stir plate. I've experienced similar attenuation with rehydrated dry yeast and liquid yeast with starters. I also have fermentation temperature...

My water profile, mash ph, and attenuation

I'm brewing my 10th all grain batch this weekend and I think it's time to start looking at my water profile and mash ph and its effects on my brews. One thing I've noticed is I don't seem to get the amazing attenuation that I read about others getting. With US-05/1056 I seem to cosistently get...

    Blue Moon Clone

Very first page, though you're definitely going to want to up the orange peel from the original recipe.

American IPA Bell's Two Hearted Ale Clone (close as they come)

It should take around an hour to fly sparge.

American IPA Bell's Two Hearted Ale Clone (close as they come)

How is everyone hitting 7%abv? I've brewed this twice now and both times came in around 6.5%. My latest batch I mashed at 150 and used Bell's yeast. I went from 1.063 to 1.014. Should I just mash lower, increase my grain, both?

    Blue Moon Clone

So I brewed a batch very similar to Wayne's first recipe that just finished carbing up. It tastes great and all my friends love it but I can certainly tell a difference between it and real blue moon. I used 3tsp of ground coriander and 3tsp of Mccormick dried Valencia orange peel but real blue...

Brewing a Kölsch, low alpha acid hops?

The recipe I'm following has 2 hop additions, one at 60 minutes and another at 30 minutes. I have Beersmith so I can easily adjust for ibus. Should I adjust the 60 minute addition and leave the 30 minute alone?

Brewing a Kölsch, low alpha acid hops?

I'm brewing a Kölsch this weekend. The recipe I'm following is pretty straightforward with 2 hop additions of german hallertau. Most of the information I can find puts the alpha acids of hallertau around 4%. The ones from my homebrew shop are 2.7%. They're made by hopunion. Should I just adjust...

What is this floating in my fermenter?

Haha yes, I did have it under a stained glass light lol.

What is this floating in my fermenter?

Went to transfer my Two hearted ale clone from primary to secondary and I found this floating in the fermenter. What is it? Recipe was the same as the popular two hearted clone found on this website. Yeast was harvested from bottles of bells amber ale. This was my third all grain batch and 6th...

    Carbonation issues

It was a 5 gallon batch. I used Wyeast American Ale II. When I uncap a bottle the cap seems to come off a lot easier than other beers, but it opens with a pssh and nothing leaks out even when keeping the bottles upside down for a couple days so Im assuming the seal is ok.

    Carbonation issues

2 and a half weeks ago i bottled 2 batches of beer. I bottled an Irish ale ~4% abv and a nugget nectar clone ~6.5% abv. My nugget nectar is perfectly carbonated but my irish ale is borderline undrinkable the carbonation is so low. I used a priming calculator for both and even used more sugar in...
