    brewpi stopped working

i changed out the temp probe i had submerged in the test water and got a reading again. perhaps it wasnt as "waterproof" as advertised. would a temp probe shorting cause this behavior?

    brewpi stopped working

hi all. i have a diy brewpi i made awhile back but never got around to using. the other day i decided to make a sour and planned to use the brewpi as the temp controller for souring. i decided to run a quick test to see if my heat source could keep up, and all seemed to go well for about 2...

As the title states, I'm in the process of putting a rims system together and would value some input on the schematic i'm using.

    Allied 1000W Bucket Heater

I hate to resurrect a thread this old but it might answer a tough question for me. I want to do a kettle sour but have no way of maintaining temp. Do you guys think one of these would maintain 115ish in a vessel holding the kettle? Ie: a Rubbermaid container full of water with the kettle...

    my weekend project

so, this is what i accomplished this weekend. http://i.imgur.com/Yn7qIzB.jpg still need to do a bit of calibrating but, after fabrication of this, accompanied by a family trip to the museum for our 3 year old, I'd call this weekend a win!

Looking for a bit of help with rims

one more question if you dont mind. i understand there are a few different kinds of temp probes, rtd, k, etc. Do these cheap controllers accept any type, or are they designed for a certain kind? the data sheet for the rnr pid doest specify rtd as a valid input, but it does say pt100 and k...

Looking for a bit of help with rims

out of curiosity what is the additional dc voltage for? if my understanding is correct the SNR/RNR just denotes what the outputs are for (ssr, none, and relay) correct? How about the va/da on the ssr's? I cant seem to find that info anywhere and would love to learn it before i go playing with...

Looking for a bit of help with rims

Looking for a bit of help with rims

Hi all, i took the leap and decided to build a rims tube for mashing and heating mash water but i think i may be in a bit over my head. After ordering a few parts from amazon i read a bit more and realized i may have made a mistake. I wasnt aware there were different kinds of pid's...
