Welcome to the hobby/obsession! I started in March and after one partial mash went straight to all grain and am over 16 batches now! Actually just bottled a batch and milled the grain for tomorrow's batch. Cheers!:mug:

How do YOU name your beers?

Agreed! It is 6.6% and leads a good whatever day it may be, but it was named as was originally brewed on the Good Friday. Regardless, it turned into a good brew.:mug:

How do YOU name your beers?

Usually just call it what it is. I have only named 2, well actually 1 as my cousin dubbed the other. Trying to get my cousin interested in brewing, he came over for a brew day to do an IPA. While brewing he asked what we should call it and i said doesn't matter, so he wrote on some paper...

    Greetings from Canada!

Good to hear OBK has quick service. They have been on my radar for a while but I have been able to make due with the gear I have so far. A new kettle is a must for any 5gal brewing for me as I currently only have an 18qt, which works well for the 2.5gal batches I have been doing. SWMBO has also...

    Greetings from Canada!

I have not actually heard of them. I do like getting up to Toronto Brewing and talking with the guys up there. Actually just picked up 2 bags, 2 row and Maris Otter, from them last week. Not cheap but they are cheaper than Canadian Brewing Supplies in Brampton though. Where is grain prosses? Do...

    Greetings from Canada!

SWMBO is anything but a beer fan, which is why i most certainly am brewing mead/cider for her. I brew indoors and according to her 'stink up the house' but she continues to allow this obsession and has even gone as far as tasting an amber I made and replied "that actually isn't horrible, but...

    Greetings from Canada!

I have been reading the forum for several months and it has helped me a ton in getting into this hobby turned obsession. I was initially given permission by SWMBO to do 1gal batches, that was 3 months ago. I now have 3 1gal growlers brewing mead and cider as well as 3 3gal BB's each brewing...

Venturing into Small Batch All Grain

I converted a 2 gal rubbermaid cooler into a mash tun for AG. I works well for most of the brews I do, mostly 2.5gal batches. I did find that I was at the max use of space for the bigger beers and also ended up converting a 5gal cooler to a MT. When using the 5gal as a MT I end up using the...
