    Indiana Nintendo Stir Plate

I made a stir plate out of an old NES. It's your normal computer fan/magnet mod. Plug the included DC supply in and control the speed with the fan controller. The fan controller is where the controller 1 input was. I will include small collection of stir bars. I can do $60 shipped. Paypal...

Brew Bucket by SS Brewing Technologies

Ahh, that's a good idea. Have your destination ready to receive the fermenter. Can you bottle directly from it? If I small batch I usually use Domino sugar cubes to prime. Not transferring would be awesome.

Brew Bucket by SS Brewing Technologies

Has anyone been using the mini 3.5G guy? The size is perfect for me, but I don't know about the rubber base. I would love to hear more first hand experience reviews of it. I have read on here once that it's a little scketchy. Has anyone had other experience or solutions for it?

    Heaters - belts or pads?

I set my carboy in a cooler that has a lizard mat in the bottom of it. It's not the best setup, but keeps the yeast working. I set my temp controller a little low to compensate for the slow gradual heating from the bottom.

    Starting my first mead tomorrow

You're making a basic cyser. A basic mead does not contain juice. Use the entire pack of yeast. Yeast nutrient up front and then again in 2 days or so will help chew all that sugar up. Good luck. Someone may recommend some tannins too for balance.

    Question About Steril Bottles

Immediately before racking beer to bottling bucket.... 1. soak in o2 type cleaner. 2. rinse thoroughly 3. dip bottle mouth & couple squirts on vinator with star-san 4. drain on clean & star-saned bottle rack. Rack beer to bottling bucket, prime, gentle stir... 5. re-dip bottle mouth and...

    "Brew" Year's Resolutions?

Moved this year, so only got a few batches in. 2017 means... I need to dial in brewing at the new house. Process is basically the same, layout and amenities are different, making some of the details new. Need to get a few brews in to feel "back in saddle." Brew more regularly, even if its...

Insane or Ingenious? Cereal Wine from Cereal

Basic Brewing made beer with cereal once. They put it in the mash. Didn't amount to anything. http://hwcdn.libsyn.com/p/f/c/f/fcfad134dfd4f413/bbv10-31-09monster.mp4?c_id=1452421&expiration=1464972625&hwt=e6e28686da007d2d2ab0729ec3a5994c James and Steve are awesome guys. If you ever do beer...

Tasted my first brew tonight...so thrilled!

10 days is pushing it a little bit in my experience. Some of your off flavors could just be yeast still in suspension. Give it another 5-10 days and you may be surprised. My stuff seems best to me when conditions 3-4 weeks. Some people may like an IPA a little bit on the sharper, greener side...

Another uneven priming thread - No dip tube = Uneven priming?

I think you need another 2-3 weeks of conditioning like Revvy stated. Without the gravity reading your sort of flying blind. You really need to record your SG and FG if you ever want to solve a potential problem like this. If it stopped at 1.10 or above it could be adding to your sweet...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Found a bottle of my first batch in the back of the fridge last night. Was about 18 months old. Delicious and crystal clear. It was gone before I thought of taking a picture of it. I might start an aged rotation of this stuff.
