    Louisiana Blichmann brewpot and Therminator

OK, I have both brewpot, accessories and wort chiller boxed up together and ready to ship. Would really prefer to sell together. Box weighs 30 lbs and will be shipping from zip code 71105 so you can figure the shipping rate with your preferred carrier.

    Louisiana Blichmann brewpot and Therminator

Pictures of the inside of kettle. The hop screen is missing. I still have the pickup spout and the plate that the screen goes under. Blichmann created the HopBlocker and reccomends upgrading to that, I did not.

    Chocolate Rasberry Porter ?

So end result I placed 2nd overall and first in category at my first amateur homebrew comp!! I used the local brewery's wort with a saf04 English ale yeast. Did a primary for one week then racked to a secondary with 12 oz of frozen raspberries, 1 oz of cocoa powder and a half oz of fuggle hops...

Maybe I ruind great beer? Maybe not?

It was preboiled. They suggested bringing it to a boil again for sanitation but I picked it up right before work and didnt have the ability to boil it and cool it off, so I just added yeast.

Maybe I ruind great beer? Maybe not?

So I am swimming in uncharted territory here. I have been brewing mostly extract beers for a few years but not sporadically. I have only brewed basic ales up until now. I entered a competition and they gave me 5 gallons of wort from a Schwarzbier. It is a wonderful beer. However it was not was i...

    Chocolate Rasberry Porter ?

Probably just going to use an English ale yeast. Liquid. I usually ferment in a closet that stays around 72°. I will take your advice about using those in the secondary.

    Chocolate Rasberry Porter ?

Also their Schwarzbier already has a chocolatey taste to it. So should I cut the cocoa nibs in half? I've never done any form of competition before so I'm a lil nervous trying something completely new for it.

    Chocolate Rasberry Porter ?

So my local Brewery is doing a homebrew competition. They provide the wort and we do the rest. The wort is their Schwarzbier. I don't have the ability to hold lager temperatures so I thought about making it more like a porter. For a 5 gallon batch I want to add 2oz of cocoa nibs and some...

Can I transport my keg on its side?

Thank you for speedy responses. In my worries of beer, I temporarily forgot I am also traveling with two SWMBOs. I've been told there is more room for clothes and hair products if I keep them upright, so that is settled.

Can I transport my keg on its side?

I hate to start a new thread but I can't find the answer I need. Everyone says it is bad to transport a corny keg on its side but is it impossible? This is what I need. I am going to travel about four hours this evening. I have an amber ale in one keg, and a root beer in the other. Both kegs are...

Can anyone tell me how I could learn to use a keg?

I am about to start kegging as well for the first time. I was pretty clueless at first but i felt a little more confident after watching several youtube videos of cleaning, installing, and filling. When I met with the guy who sold me all my keg stuff, he walked me through it and it looks easy...

    Moving on up!

Thank you. The kegs do have a manual relief valve. I remember him showing me one of them still had a little pressure. Ill def be checking everything over and cleaning it again, as it has all been sitting for four years. He kept everything in pretty pristine condition and is giving me all the...

    Moving on up!

So I have been brewing like a caveman for a few years and now it is time to find the wheel. I just purchased a retiring brewers old setup and this is what I now have: 10 Gallon Blichman boilermaker (with some type of hop blocker or filter screen, I couldnt find anything like it online) 4...
