    Been having an issue lately with some of my bottles not being carbonated while others bottled the same day are fine. I've been using Swingtop bottles and I've made sure all the rubber seals are in good shape. I even make sure and moisten them before sealing. I've made sure my bottling sugar...

    If you can it would be best to use something to mix your beer and sugar in. Since your only bottling 1 gallon you could use a kitchen pot or other vessel to bottle from just make sure it's sanitized as well as everything your beer comes in contact with.     Add the sugar to 1/2 cup of water and heat it til the sugar is dissolved. Pour the sugar water into your bottling bucket first. Then add your beer. This should mix everything fine. You should be good to go

    Bottling mead

    I have some mead that has been in the secondary fermenter for 2 months. If I want to carbonate the mead when I bottle will there still be enough active yeast at this point to carbonate. Will I have to add more. Or is it possible at all at this point.
