    Brewer's Best Coffee Porter

Had my first bottle this weekend. That makes 3 weeks in primary and 3 weeks in the bottle. Not too bad. The coffee flavor is pretty strong...definitely dominates the flavor. I'll be curious to see if it fades and lets the rest of the ingredients shine after a little more bottle conditioning.

    Brewer's Best Coffee Porter

Fermentation has leveled off around 1.014. I tasted the sample, and it's on its way to being a pretty good beer. The coffee flavor is pretty strong right now, but I bet a few weeks of bottle conditioning will mellow out the coffee and bring out more of the chocolate and roast flavors. I'll give...

    Brewer's Best Coffee Porter

Glad to hear it came highly recommended. It's bubbling away in the fermenter now, and I'm excited to taste the finished project. Brew day went fairly well...had a boil-over in the last five minutes when I added the coffee grounds. Turned my back for a second to throw away the bag, and then I...

What are some of the mistakes you made...where your beer still turned out great!

Down to the last 10 bottles of my first batch and loving it. I managed to drop the bag of steeping grains and had to fish it out, accidentally trapping it against the side of the kettle and giving it a pretty good squeeze in the process. Also realized about a week info fermentation that I didn't...

    Caribou Slobber...

I'd be curious to know how close Caribou Slobber is to Moose Drool. I'm finishing up a batch of Slobber and loving it, and I'm not normally a huge fan of brown ales. I saw some Moose Drool singles hiding between the seasonal Blue Moons and Sam Adamses at the neighborhood Kroger recently and am...

    Caribou Slobber/Partial boil question?

If you can do a full boil, that's supposed to be the best way, but I can tell you that, at least with this beer, it won't taste watered down on a partial boil. I did a partial boil with my batch of slobber (~2.5 gallons), and it turned out great. And definitely wait the full 3 weeks for...
