    Besides taking hydrometer readings and having consistent results for a few days, those yeast rafts dropping to the bottom of the fermenter should be a sign that fermentation is finishing up, right?

    Thanks guys. Is that hop residue going to affect the flavor a lot? It's supposed to be a pale ale...I have since invested in a better strainer.

    Alright. Now the age old question from the new kid. Does this look infected? My first guess is it's either yeast clumping or it's hops that made it through the strainer (which is possible haha). But I want some help from experienced brewers...there are very small bubbles on top too. It's 8 days...
