    Coopers Ginger Beer in Canada

The ginger beer kits from Australia cannot be imported into the US because of a particular sweetener that is in them. I honestly don't know what it it is, but it isn't approved by our US Food & Drug Administration.

Cooper's DME: the REAL story, anyone?

In all honesty, I rarely take OG readings anymore [I'm lazy, ok?] but when I do them, it seams like all of the Coopers kits come in at about 1.045 - 1.050 range, regardless of what I put in them!

Cooper's DME: the REAL story, anyone?

I use Coopers kits all the time. Like with any other brewing method [and I've done just about them all] you can make some really good beer with them, or some not-so-good ones. I have made the IPA and I would suggest either 2lbs of DME or a 3.3lb can of LME. Either way, I would add some flavor...

    help with coopers IPA

I think you're Ok with the fermentables you listed, as they are formulated to work well with dextrose. That said, from my experience with thier IPA kit, you might want to throw some more hops in or beter yet, dry hop some.

Yes, this DOES sound tasty! Keep us informed! :mug:

Worst beer you have ever made/had.

Anything brewed by Gettys Brew, a now closed brewpub outside of Gettysburg, PA. We went there in 2004 with high expectations. Being a homebrewer, I know bad beer - I've made my share. I ordered the sampler tray - and they all tasted the same - infected. I couldn't believe they lasted until 2009.

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Bottled mine this past Wednesday, used 3/4 cup corn sugar. Being a nerd I cracked one open on Friday night. Of course it wasn't fully carbonated, but it actually tasted good, not green at all. I've got high hopes for this one! :ban:

    Coopers Real Ale Recipe

You might want to check out the "How To Brew" section of the Coopers website. There's a recipe there called "Unreal Ale" that is excellant! http://www.coopers.com.au/

Coopers extract kits and alcohol content

If made as per "recipe", they all usually come in with an OG of 1.040 - 1.045.

    Brewferm Extracts

Not all of the batch sizes are the same for all of the Brewferm styles. As much as it hurts me to say this, but ..............."check the instructions" for your particular kit. They'll be in litres, but thats an easy on-line conversion.

    Brewferm Extracts

If you are talking about the Brewferm hopped extract kits from Belgium, I've tried several. Like most things, there are some good ones and some not-so-good ones. The Dubble and Triple were good to OK, but the Grand Cru wasn't. All were made to kit directions. Hope this helps.

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Thats what mine was at when I checked this past weekend. I'm looking to find time to bottle in the coming week. The hydro sample tasted great.

    Coopers Beer kits?

FWIW, I've played around with a lot of Coopers kits over the past two years, for much the same reason as you - lack of time to devote to a proper brew. That said, I've made some darn fine beers with them [and some less than stellar ones, too]. Funny thing is, the "brew Enhancers" that Coopers...

OK, I know it's probably somewhere in this thread, but what is a normal FG for this?

Tweaking Brewer's Best Russian Imperial Stout kit

I brewed this back in September straight out of the box and am drnking it now. Probably the best "kit" beer I've ever made. However, I do like some of the suggestions posted here - such as bumping up the hops and adding bourbon. :rockin:

    Muntons American Lite

In regards to kits from Muntons, Coopers, etc - yes, these are "no boil" kits, and boiling them will 1] eliminate and/or alter the hop profile, and 2] darken the resulting wort. DON'T BOIL THEM. They are made to be "mixed" not really "brewed". Some of them, Coopers in particular, are formulated...

    Taking a step backward

Nah, it won't suck. I've made or had a number of brews made with Mr. Beer ingredients that were quite good. That said, I'd stay away from that nasty stuff they call "Booster" [at least I think thats what it's called.] They do sell a line of all-malt kits, though.

    Using Jelly in Beer

From reading several Aussie home brew forums, it's use is popular downundah.
