    Cool...so if I do substitute the cascade with centennial does this hop schedule look decent enough? I would love to get some simcoe thrown in there either to replace something or just as an addition but I can't find them locally.

    Extract potential values of grains

    Does anyone know where I can find a chart/table/listing of the extract potential range for individual grains? I'm mainly looking for the SG values if at all possible.

    First partial mash

    Alright, I feel as though I'm ready to try a partial mash and was thinking about doing a spiced brown ale. Any ideas as far as recipes...I really enjoy a smooth brown with some body.

    Success!

    We ended up putting about 500mL of each tea in the approx. 2.5 gallons of the mead once we split it. It's very subtle but not absent. In retrospect I might have doubled it up and cut back on the ginger.

    I brewed a porter this past Monday and as of this morning, there is still no visible activity going on in my airlock. I figured I should just go ahead and repitch with a new packet of yeast. Thoughts? My temp has been at a steady 68-72. Any ideas other than a bad yeast packet?
