    D47 die off

    Will D47 "die off" on its own when it fully ferments out? I have been using pot sulfite before bottling, but read recently that is not required if full ferment has occured. I have 3 gallon orange blossom going right now, would prefer not adding chemicals unless necessary.

    Hey, at about three weeks old, just popped my airlock on my 1st batch of apfelwein to see what it smelled like, it still has that SO2 smell to it. Is this normal for another few weeks?:o

    Welches grape

    I followed yoopers recipe to a "t", and it's only 2.5 weeks old. I cold crashed it a couple of nights ago, and I keep taking sneaking lil cups out, this is my first wine and I wanna see how it tastes. Tastes like a sangria, pretty tasty actually. My question is it is slight fizzy after a drink...

    This was the main reason for my question, wasn't sure on the yeast amount, most of my recipe browsing pretty much says "pitch the yeast", most times not saying the amount, so you guys got me on the right track, thanks for the quick replies. Also is it ok to ziplock and refrigerate the leftover...

    Hello, new to the forum and new to brewing. I'm sure the answers are somewhere in these 1000 + pages, but I cant find the scaling of the 5 gallon rec ipe to 1 gallon. Just do a swag on the dextrose and half pack of yeast ? Thanks.
